General Girls Aloud Discussion

Discussion in 'Comeback corner' started by marknyc, Nov 16, 2007.

  1. Hello.

If you would like to contribute to the General Girls Aloud discussion thread, here are some rules you should follow.

HELPING THE GENERAL GIRLS ALOUD DISCUSSION THREAD RUN SMOOTHLY

Please write in fully formed sentences. This means capitalising the first letter of a sentence and the names of artists and song titles, putting a full stop at the end of a sentence, and so on.

Don't use textspeak. This means things like U, UR, LMAO, LOL, wot and so on. You are not looking at a mobile phone or an instant messenger window.

We've disabled the smilies on the General Girls Aloud discussion thread. This is for a reason, so posts containing comments like "Insert sad smiley here" will be deleted.

Abbreviations (like GA for Girls Aloud, or IWS for 'I'm With Stupid') can be confusing so please write Girls Aloud and song titles in full.

If you have registered to talk about Girls Aloud only, or if you're street-teaming or spamming, use the Links, Spam & Street Team Cuntery forum, or don't post at all.

If there's an active thread about Girls Aloud (such as this one), try not to start a new one unless your contribution informs us of a huge and explosive new development.

There's no real point to posts of the 'I agree!' / 'So true!' / 'I can't wait!' variety. Only post things if you have something to add!

    Don't censor your swear words.

Don't - this is terrible to have to ask - use words like 'bitch', 'slag', and 'slut' to describe a lady.

THINGS YOU CAN'T DO BECAUSE OF THE LAW

Do not speculate on Nadine or any of the other girls' sexuality.

Don't post links to illegal music downloads.

Don't request links to illegal music downloads.

Don't post midweek chart information - it's the copyright of the people who compile the charts.

Do not post images from photo agencies.

WHAT TO DO IF YOUR POST IS DELETED

If you've broken one of the above rules, your post will be deleted.

If you really don't understand what the problem is, send a private message to a moderator, who may be able to help. Please bear in mind that a different moderator may have deleted your post - so make sure you explain what was in your original post.

    And that is that.

It looks horrible and restrictive and completely ridiculous when it's written down like that, but it also makes for a really good General Girls Aloud discussion thread.

If you think it's all a bit unfair, there are plenty of other forums you can register for.

I think people will be scared to post in here now.

  3. Re: General Girls Aloud discussion thread

Shall we mention those rumoured tour dates again?

Yes please! Any news on Newcastle or Birmingham dates yet? Oh to see Kimba's arse up close on a big stage again!

  5. Re: General Girls Aloud discussion thread

Pleeeeeeeeease can we discuss tour dates - I'm desperate to get tickets for Birmingham - my seats at the Greatest Hits tour were shocking, so to get in there as early as possible would be brilliant. So talk about possible tour dates and where to get tickets, please!

I really have no idea what's going on round here today...

  6. Re: General Girls Aloud discussion thread

I'm not quite sure what is allowed to be discussed now.

I may be considering Birmingham, so when the time comes and someone has a really good spare ticket, I'm your woman. (Unless I get some myself of course!).

  7. Re: General Girls Aloud discussion thread

I honestly have no idea what's going on now, I really don't.

If you want to come to Brum, do! I've found a friend who really wants to come, and a mate of hers wants to come - so you could join our threesome (oo-er, etc) if you wanted! It would be nice to see it with a fellow Kimba fan, hehe.

I rely on Popjustice for info, this is a bit of a stress.

Ha ha sounds like fun! Well if it's true that tickets are on sale next Friday, we shall know about the dates very soon.

  9. Re: General Girls Aloud discussion thread

I am hoping to go London and Newcastle again this year... The tour is right slap bang in the middle of dissertation submission/presentation time though... oh well

  10. Re: General Girls Aloud discussion thread

Those have always been the forum rules and everyone did fine. I think the point is use some discretion. I don't think you'll get in trouble for sticking to music talk.

  11. Re: General Girls Aloud discussion thread

The Girls should really focus back on hitting the mainland once again. They have some killer songs in their repetoire, so maybe they can just release a real 'sound of' album...
    1 Something Kinda Ooh
    2 Girl Overboard
    3 Waiting
    4 Call the shots
    5 Wake Me Up
    6 I can't speak french
    7 Fling
    8 No Good Advice
    9 Watch me go
    10 Love Machine
    11 Graffiti My Soul
    12 Swining London Town
    13 I can't speak french
    14 Wholla lotta history

  12. Re: General Girls Aloud discussion thread

Is I cant speak french really that good it needs to be on there twice!?

and what do you mean a sound of album? they just did a greatest hits are you suggesting a BEST OF? before their studio albums even been released?!

  13. Re: General Girls Aloud discussion thread

I'm hoping they don't bugger up on The X Factor tomorrow night. Where they've not performed it on tv yet either makes the anticipation all the worse because we don't know if they sing it any good. The performances of 'Sexy! No No No...' were all dreadful.

  14. Re: General Girls Aloud discussion thread

Their Sound Of/Best Of was just their collection of singles, which basically aren't their best songs. Their albums have better gems than Think We're Alone Now, Jump, Life Got Cold etc

Re: General Girls Aloud discussion thread

I'm not sure where I'll be living in May next year, I'd love to go to the Newcastle date, cos the crowd there is brilliant, and Cheryl properly comes to life (she cries and everything!)

I'll probably have to go to Birmingham though and just stay with my parents if I am living elsewhere.

  16. Re: General Girls Aloud discussion thread

Why is Nadine's name highlighted in that rule? Until reading that line I've never even thought about Nadine's sexuality, but the phrasing of that rule has made me do so, defeating the purpose of the rule.

It should simply read "Do not speculate on the any of the girls' sexuality."

Re: General Girls Aloud discussion thread

Any tour dates <s>leaked</s> (sssh!) yet? I'm dying to know.

I'm a bit worried about the X Factor tomorrow. I think they're selling out a bit considering what some of you have said what three of the judges have said about them. If it helps Call the Shots or the album then great, but if their performance is terrible, they could just be set up against Hope. Unfortunately the Girls' track record is inconsistent

  18. Re: General Girls Aloud discussion thread

I dont know why thats even there, I wasn't aware of any speculation around any of Aloud's sexuality!

Now their partners, thats another story...

  19. Re: General Girls Aloud discussion thread

It's trying to inject a bit of humour into dreary but necessary guidelines.

I'll be dashing out to the nearest shop that hasn't been closed yet to buy this. And I can't wait to find out how it does in the charts.

Heh, too true. Some of the stories that have been written, tres intriguing.
