  1. I'm back to eliminate another queen.

    My Score: 8

    Voter Bloc 1: #85

    Voter Bloc 4: #47
    Voter Bloc 5: #47

    Final Voters: #55

    Charts: #24 (Japan) #67 (Germany) #102 (South Korea) #31 (U.S. Dance/Club)

Release: Debut single from Fight or Flight

Song Writers: Emily Osment, Toby Gad (producer), Mandy Perkins

Fun Fact: The song was used in the NCIS: Los Angeles episode "Special Delivery"

Hazey's Focus: I used to view this as one of my least favorite songs on an album I otherwise loved so much. Something about the chorus's melody or lack of one really didn't work for me at first because I just seemed like Emily was lifelessly delivering the words on autopilot. A lot of the 'reverse sticker shock' of that eventually wore off and I consider it a decent bop but still not on the level of most of the album. I can see why "Lovesick" was chosen as a single but I would've chosen "Truth or Dare" or "Double Talk" instead of this.

Apparently @GhettoPrincess (4) was in that first stage I was once at with the song which is why I told her to listen to it again before finalizing her votes: "The verses are great and the production really sounds like it’ll go somewhere special but the chorus is shit."

But even I think @unnameable (7) isn't wrong, though I'll still use: "dated a little worse than her other track."

@Sally_Harper (8) ignores 'vocal proficiency' as a key factor like any basic bop lover should: "Ooh, this is great. Her voice still annoys me a bit but I’ll put up with it. BOP."

Clearly @iheartpoptarts (8) has something on her mind when listening to that chorus: "I do love the title lyric!" I wonder what Radio Disney did with the lyrics if they even played it, there's no way "make out" was getting on the air, ddd.

While @Martyn (8) would be ready to win a battle on Drag Race with this: "I remember loving this when it came out. I would consider Lip Syncing for my life to it."

If you were wondering just who the heck Emily Osment was coming into this rate, @livefrommelbs (8.5) wants to remind you: "EMILY OSMENT IS AN UNDERRATED DISNEY KWEEN AND THIS IS PROOF WHY."

Looks like it started out as a favorite for @31entrance (8.75), but has since lost a little bit of its iconicness: "used to obsessed with this one."

But nostalgia only enhanced the voting experience for @Pecans (10): "I used to stan Emily when I was a kid, and this was always my favourite. She has such a fun little discography. I love her vocal."

  6. And nothing of value was lost.

I actually don't dislike Emily Osment, but it's a shame her music just isn't all that great.

  7. The next song will also eliminate the artist, so:

    Bridgit Mendler
    Victoria Justice
    Bea Miller
    Lucy Hale
    Sabrina Carpenter
    Sofia Carson

It's also our most 'top heavy' song so far since it got an 11 and five 10s.

  8. Good. Now let's get rid of Bea, Sabrina, Sofia and other flop girls.

  9. Bye Emily, I won't miss you or your voice.

  10. Hopefully Victoria or Bea, because all the other songs are perfect.

The lesser known girls are getting done a bit wrong here!

  11. Dddd, you guys are pure evil.

  12. Hopefully one of these three. I rated all their remaining songs 5-6.

  13. The intro music to Let’s Be Friends sounds similar to Girls Can’t Catch Keep your head up.

  14. Praying for Lucy!!! Run This Town deserves to be that rate smash. Road Between's music is 10 x better, but it's such a hard pop bop.

  15. Part of me looks at the iconic songs we have left and thinks this relatively unknown anthem did so well to get this far, but the greedy side of me thinks it should've been Top 40..

#54. Sofia Carson - Love Is the Name - 7.125
    Highest:
    11 (@aniraz) 10 x 5 (@Sally_Harper, @WhenTheSunGoesDown, @iheartpoptarts, @Sprockrooster, DJHazey)

    Lowest: 1 x 2 (@unnameable, @Blond)

    Voter Bloc 1: #46
    Voter Bloc 2: #17
    Voter Bloc 3: #39
    Voter Bloc 4: #31
    Voter Bloc 5: #28

Final Voters: #54 <-- Where the two 1s came into play.

    Charts: #22 (Poland) #36 (U.S. Latin Pop)

Release: standalone single in April 2016, though was supposed to be a debut for upcoming debut album we've heard nothing about.

    Songwriters: Steve Mac, Ina Wroldsen

Fun Facts: The song is an interpolation of "Live Is Life" by Opus. A day after the initial release, another version of the song was released which featured Colombian recording artist J Balvin, who is most known to me and other basic bop lovers for "Cola Song" by Inna.

Hazey's Focus: This is the true definition of "beat it into your head until you love it" because I did not understand why @WhenTheSunGoesDown and @iheartpoptarts were stanning for it at first and it literally took months of me hearing every once in a while before it finally clicked one day and now it's an easy 10. I just wish we had gotten an album of this instead of her Spanish stuff later as I find it hard to get into a lot of music in a foreign language (see: my story with Becky G's career).

At least @unnameable (1) speaks about why they tanked the song with a reasonable critique, more than @Blond can say for themselves: "interpolating “live is life” should be a crime."

It was always going to work for @Martyn (8) when he was comparing Sofia to actual divinity: "The start of the video, visually and sonically is giving me Paris Hilton- Stars Are Blind. Actually very good song."

I can definitely see @Sprockrooster (10) getting his life with this soundtracking a holiday. Too bad his boyfriend doesn't feel the same with the 6 he gave. Glad you control the music in the relationship: "I stan this sample use so hard. Such a queen. NA NA NA NA NAAAAAAAAA."

@iheartpoptarts (10) suddenly has me worried for the 2000s Eurodance rate: "I love the Latin remix, too. Except one time I tried to play it on plug.dj and I got more meh votes than the time I tried to play French Affair." I'll let you decide what ballots we deny.

I think @Sally_Harper (10) was going to end up getting disappointed when she found out there was no album of these: "Oh my god I LOVE this. Never heard of Sofia before but I’m going to investigate further."

@WhenTheSunGoesDown (10) knows the feeling: "This will be on all of my summer playlists until I die peacefully of old age. And by then she might finally release an album." Noooooooooo, and when she does it'll probably be some Latin-pop thing with a mix of jazzy/R&B sounds and you'll roll over in your grave.

Because of this comment from @aniraz (11) I think @WhenTheSunGoesDown will make sure they have plots in the ground that are next to each other: "absolute fucking banger. Total pop injustice that this went unnoticed."
