The Ultimate Popstar Countdown 2017 - #733a (Another HUGE drop!)

Between 2016 and now 87 Popjustice users sent in personal lists of their alltime favourite popstars. The result? A massive 965-artist-long list of pop's very finest people and songs!

In the next few months all of them will get their own little moment to shine (and be discussed) right here in a video countdown towards the Ultimate Popstar.
Which is just as much about discussing and discovering the most random acts as it is about who comes out on top.

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

(Probably not him) (Or could it be...?)

Speaking of which: the top spot has been changing so much throughout the voting process that up till the very last batch of votes I had no clue who would take the title.
All I'm willing to say for now: the top 2 doesn't look exactly the same as it did back in 2011. Make of that what you will!

Stay tuned for the first countdown montage(s) coming up later today!

  7. Poor Kat DeLuna. (That is some outstandingly awful dancing in that clip.)

Hats off to the one person who voted for Anita Baker, though.

Even though I loved her album it still feels quite appropriate to have Paris Hilton on the absolute bottom of this list.

  9. I don't like to admit it, but I actually only like a few songs by Paris. I wanted to love that album more since I adore her, trust me.

  10. I actually prefer Nothing in This World to Stars Are Blind.

Who voted for Kat DeLuna theaux.

  11. But yes Nothing In This World, that song was on my long list for 'Ultimate Popjustice'.

@Sprockrooster did and I love him for it!
She does deliver some pretty good Redone bops.

I intend to go through these 1-pointers at a rapid pace. Only just noticed vid.me has a 1gb weekly upload limit though.. Yikes.

  14. I can't watch this till I get home (see y'all in a few hours!), but Kat DeLuna is still delivering bops that sound straight out of 2010 and it actually makes my life.

  15. It was me!

Edit: ow mvnl mentioned it. Oops.

That Kat person has been mentioned on this forum so many times, I still don't know who she is.

I LOVE Mansun, 'Legacy' is a classic.

  18. I love her. She visited Belgium a lot as that was the only place she had a career (which feels so random) and saw her live a couple of times. Such a party everytime.

Love her second album more than her first but both are faves. Animal and Dancing Alone are another massive faves. The song in question (Party Oclock) was my buzz alarm song for several years. How amazing is it to wake up with this:

Time to wake up the world
    Hello world Hello world
    Wake up Wake up
    It is Party Oclock
La la la la la la la

  19. It actually is random, because she actually didn't have that big of a career here, except for getting a few of her singles spun on the radio...

  20. Well she definetely did some live gigs and was on the radio a lot I guess. But I am not sure anymore now.
