Actually they cemented the fact it was the street and the people Toadie is attached to rather than the house specifically in the finale since he had little sentiment about leaving #30, I'd say?

Not enought room for the new extended family unit at #30 perhaps. Don't forget Toadie was willing to leave the street altogether before the finale never mind just move across the road. Toadie may possibly have had to sell #30 or lost his law firm or some reason we aren't yet aware of.
