    Where’s Rose Gray though…

    Doja Cat - Scarlet

Love this. Similarly obsessed with the Spike from Buffy look in the video. This shit hits in different areas.

    Amaarae - Fountain Baby

Co-Star is song of the summer

    Kylie Minogue - Tension

The truth, as ever, is somewhere in the middle. The Padam Padam 'sound' is one of the top 5% fastest growing on TikTok, so I think some people are underestimating what 7k means on TikTok. BUT, it's nowhere near being a TikTok hit - you need 10k+ creations a week to even start being considered...

Two great semi-finals though, WTA stays winning even with all its mess.

    Tennis

I had thought about this, but ultimately I think most people won't have the detailed knowledge on which Russian/Belarusian players have and haven't spoken out and so a picture of a Ukranian player shaking hands with them isn't going to be viewed with nuance. Kasatkina dealt with it perfectly I felt.

Jessie Ware - That! Feels Good!

I’ve let it sit with me but afraid this isn’t fully clicking. Yes I miss the more sultry, siren-like qualities of WYP but I even think it nailed the fun sound more too with the title track, Soul Control and Ooh La La. I’m bopping while I’m listening but it all feels a bit hollow once the album...

    Taylor Swift - Midnights

I can scrape together a 6 track EP out of Lover but even the tracks that aren’t outright embarrassing are lesser versions of stuff she’s done better elsewhere (I.e I don’t see Afterglow and Daylight as top tier Taylor).

    Ryan Beatty - Calico

He's 3 for 3. So underrated. White Teeth and Little Faith encapsulate what I love about him - understated but so melodic. Hunter feels like a progression in his sound too. This album is a gem.

    Susanne Sundfør – generell diskusjon

This is heavenly. Stand outs for me are ashera's song, blómi (the closest to the previous album), fare thee well, alyosha (which I still can't get enough off) and náttsongr. Maybe it's me being a bit Live, Laugh, Love but the outro really got me too - the word really is YES, Susanne.

Ellie Goulding - Higher Than Heaven

But it would bump the second biggest track down the order and make it viable for album streams (which I KNOW would make next to no difference but still…)

    Kelly Clarkson - Chemistry (Deluxe)

Also pretty sure I remember hearing a Caroline interview (6 Music?) earlier in the year where she says she’s making a loss from her European tour. On Kelly, her recent covers of MUNA’s ‘Stayaway’ and Florence’s ‘Free’ were both flawless and I’m enjoying my time in clown college imagining an...

    Taylor Swift - 1989 (Taylor's Version) [Oct 27] + Re-Recordings

'ME!' was her attempt at jumping on the post-Greatest Showman 'This Is Me' bandwagon, engaging the family audience - and with them a whole new generation of Swifties aged 8 and below for her to sell products to for the next 30 years. It would've actually been a fairly shrewd business move had it...

Mabel - About Last Night... (The Concept Album)

Just under 10k. Harry at #1 was just under 12k.

    Ethel Cain - Preacher's Daughter

    European PJers rejoice. Can't wait.

Billie Eilish - Happier Than Ever

She came on at about 21:15 for the first night in London, but think it's been around 9 at other venues.

    Omar Apollo - Ivory

No Good Reason needs to be like double the length, what a groove. Really enjoying this album overall - it travels through a lot of sounds but it feels really assured in doing it. A level up from Apolonio for me (which needed a few of the stand alone tracks he released around it to fully pop)

    Maggie Rogers

From what I heard a while back the sound was more “Florence + the Machine”-esque this time around, but not sure if that means full witch in the woods Flo or High As Hope Flo. Quietly perched though.

Billie Eilish - Happier Than Ever

She sounded fantastic at the Oscars even if the song isn’t one of her best. Not sure I’ve heard a better performance from her in fact.
