Desire is my most played album this year and it wasn't even close. Over twice as many plays as the next one in line. And it's well deserved. Everything about this record fascinates me, from the production to the songwriting all the way to the design. She's the total package, a blazing star. I...
I think it's a little ironic that I nominated this, seeing as I'm such a staunch defender of all those short short songs so many people around this forum whinge about.
For French, I'm all about Mylene. I still can't believe I got the chance to see her live—10 years ago this month, on the Timeless Tour in Brussels.
Also love these:
Remember that time I sent this absolute banger from Finnish folk group Värttinä and got the tiny crown for my trouble?
Well, now you get more as a reward.
I've got Gemini in both sun and moon (and other flavors of Mercury all over the rest of my chart for extra fun). You're not exactly wrong!
I wonder what M would assume I'm like.
Круто!! I think I've decided Ворона is my favorite Russian album of all time. I recently got the first-press CD, which comes in a solid black jewelcase with gold lettering stamped into it. I've never seen anything quite like it before.
Плацента is right up there with it, and it looks amazing...
I recently saw a Rolling Stone interview where Grimes was interviewing aespa and said she's a "first generation K-pop fan" because she got into it in 2010. Such disrespect for the real classics!
Anyone else know these? Forever my favorite K-artists, especially Lee Jung Hyun. She was the...
I don't know if it's been mentioned yet (didn't see it on a quick thread scan) but "Nice to meet you" and "Bury me" are different on the CD than on streaming. There's no Central Cee verse in the former + extra Kelela on the latter.
I just panic bought all her albums I don't already own on Discogs in case this means the end of cheap prices for her CDs. Even if the catalog comes back I'll have pretty physical copies, so it's a win-win?
It better not! I have a few playlists that won't be the same without her. (I own all her music on my iTunes and a fair bit of it on CD, but I hammer Spotify all day at work so this sucks if true. And just in time for me getting all nostalgic over j-pop! Seriously been listening to her more this...
These days I'm burned out on talking about pop and just want to listen to it (it's all feeling more than a bit "dancing about architecture" to me) but Xtra has a way of luring me back to this pink hellscape.
Can't wait to see what you've all come up with this time!
Ophelia is the one for me right now, but there's really not a misstep anywhere. Unfortunately I'm in the office right now so I have to keep the volume low but I can't wait to get in the car and blast this.
