    Emma Bunton

Looks like Life In Mono is completely gone from Apple despite it being back on Spotify. Bit of a shame.

    Mariah Carey

She's on my bucket list to see her live but I've almost given up - I don't think she'll make it here again anytime soon.

    RuPaul's Drag Race

I'm not entirely surprised by this but it was still interesting to see that everyone avoided the pre-2000s songs until the end.

Girls Aloud - What Will the Neighbours Say? + Album Re-issues

Those books below the shelf look amazing.

I don't see her releasing deluxes of the albums, the reason being that a lot of vinyl-only exclusives from throughout her career went up on streaming recently.

Girls Aloud - What Will the Neighbours Say? + Album Re-issues

Last night I was at a pub quiz and there was a Guess the song round - I weirdly got Girls Allowed and Geri's Bag It Up intros mixed up (they played Bag It Up and my instinct reaction was Girls Allowed, took me 20-ish seconds to realise that it's Bag It Up). Even now after the drinks they kind of...

Dua Lipa - "Illusion" + Radical Optimism (May 3)

I enjoy it quite much but it feels like a 9.8/10 rather than a 10/10 still - maybe it will take some time to fully appreciate it. There's something so mid 2000s about the chorus that I can imagine the MTV Europe logo slapped on the video.

Girls Aloud - The Girls Aloud Show (2024 Tour)

This happened with me when I bought the cheapest tickets for Pet Shop Boys and I ended up in front of the stage instead when my ticket was scanned.

Girls Aloud - The Girls Aloud Show (2024 Tour)

I wouldn't mind a 6-7-minute ballad medley but I'm hoping everything else is uptempo. If The Loving Kind has to be cut, I hope it's in a medley with a full length Call The Shots.

    Top of the Pops BBC4

I don't really have any specific examples and it could be I'm getting mistaken/imagining things. It wasn't some big difference but it was slightly noticeable on a 32" TV compared with other performances. Maybe I was indeed referring to the Big Hits compilations and got confused with At The BBC...

Pet Shop Boys - "Dancing star" + Nonetheless (Apr 26)

I hope once this era is done and they're finished touring they focus on the back catalogue a bit digitally - it's not in a terrible state but it could be much better - a lot of stuff is missing in terms of remixes.

    Top of the Pops BBC4

I've noticed on various " the BBC" programmes that post-1998 performances tend to be in slightly worse quality so it would be interesting if that's true of the repeats as well when we get to that time.

    Lady Gaga - 7th Album

I'll watch it but even after recently becoming a cinephile this movie itself doesn't interest me much. I am hoping it's a massive success for her of course. I am much more curious about the music though - would be interesting to see the song choices. I know it's not jazz overall but there are...

Girls Aloud - What Will the Neighbours Say? + Album Re-issues

As much as I would love to see the setlist go deep, it is an arena tour after all and most likely 95% of it would be for the casuals.

The Celebration Rate: Four Decades Of Music - The Madonna Album Rate

Amazing and entirely correct top 2. The strength of both albums' demo sessions shows that they were always bound to be great albums no matter what. And both eras taken as full packages (videos, remixes, tours) are peak Madonna to me. I enjoy American Life for what it is but I think it could have...

Pet Shop Boys - "Dancing star" + Nonetheless (Apr 26)

I wish Yes clicked more with me - on paper Pet Shop Boys and Xenomania sounds amazing but I only like about 6 of the tracks and even of them I'm not a massive fan.

Oh wow, I did not expect that. Has that been on CD before? I'm sure we'll get there eventually - it must have been on Finally Enough Love at some point and probably it was that mix.

I think my biggest loss of all of these demos is the uptempo Wash All Over Me - it's a fantastic song in that form, particularly the very first version that appeared in 2014.

Pet Shop Boys - "Dancing star" + Nonetheless (Apr 26)

The Pop Kids is an absolute classic for me, I was surprised to see it completely excluded from the Greatest Hits tour.

It's irking me that the remix of It's All Over But The Crying isn't there but I'm very happy with the rest of the contents - great to have the Absolute Garbage singles and Witness To Your Love in one place.
