Ditto, I probably order off Discogs once every two months now, it used to be weekly. Very few people grade things properly there now.

It’s only the waaah stories that are worth posting innit really! I’d put them in order of MM, Momox (though they don’t do refunds, you always have to escalate these days) then WOB. Completely agree and I think we aren’t dealing with people any more, just algorithms.

Yes, they are generally very good, by far the best to be honest. I’ve lost count of how many I’ve bought over the years.

I reached a new low plateau with the normally ok MusicMagpie today. Last February, they had a US cd copy on eBay of the Sinful album by Pete Wylie. However it was a Nimbus pressing and a bit sticky, @Eric Generic I’m sure reported this a while back. Unfortunately it skipped so I tried to...

I got a Target CD of Dream Into Action from them this week, everything was filthy. Once I'd cleaned everything, it was just about a fiver well spent.

I think WOB have gone massively downhill this year, though they tend to send you other wants in replacement. However the last order of all Very Good - Grace Jones Bulletproof Heart (water damage, rips), Tin Men dvd (huge scratches) and Psychedelic Furs World Outside (meh) is shocking, they...

    ABBA

Watching all the BBC4 docs last night and my own memories, ABBA were dead and buried by the mid to late 80s. It seems bizarre now thinking Woolworth's were selling the cheap price Pickwick label compilations then.

    Eurythmics & Annie Lennox

Hum, potentially exciting but it's a long time since eithers imperial phase. I thought the last two W&L albums weren't great but fingers crossed as others have said!

I bought that many years ago on CD, surprised its not on Juno or other download sites from the earlier release. Massive shame if not, I agree.

Limited to 500 copies. I'm not sure either as I've never seen that in charity shops!

Icehouse The Singles Rate 1981-2021 OPEN NOW

Completely agree, I would add 1927 and The Go-Betweens to that list. There was an ‘ambience’ to Aussie recordings too, you could tell a record’s origin from listening.

    Kylie Minogue - Tension

It’s BMG’s model, so she’d have to leave them if she did agree.

    Top of the Pops BBC4

Really good question… I love White Feathers but I’m sure it’s more to do with Colin Thurston’s production, Nick Beggs’ fluid playing and the 1983 ambience, than the actual songs! Hang On Now (3rd single) is a much better song though than the frankly baffling choice of Ooh to be Aah.

    Top of the Pops BBC4

Quite an episode the 1983 one, Blue Monday live, Style Council first appearance, Kajagoogoo making funny noises, Duran at #1. I really like Mari Wilson but Julie London's version of Cry Me A River cannot be beaten for drama and vocal control.
