Heh, I gotta admit they are kinda scraping the bottom of the 80’s barrel but the both have some great moments. Boomerang was two former Coconuts from Kid Creole & the Coconuts and then Perri Lister who was in Hot Gossip (with Sinitta, Sarah Brightman, and a host of minor Hi-NRG starlets), sang...

I’m guessing you’re right. Not as exciting but much, much more likely. God, I wonder/it would be amazing if it was offered to Eighth Wonder too. After sharing “Cross My Heart” with Tracie Spencer and Martika and (slightly less illustriously) “When the Phone Stops Ringing” with Boomerang and Kidd...

Agreed. Her vocals were much better than I expected. “Just for a Minute” was a mini-gay club hit in America, the Hot Tracks remix service was able to work out a deal that they could do a remix that would only be available to DJs that subscribed to their service. “Don’t Stop” was a favorite...

“Cross My Broken Heart” was I think the first SAW track I bought that had not been an American pop or club success. I was only aware of it from the singles chart in Number One magazine but wow am I glad I gave it a chance. I loved it so much and it got me started hunting more SAW stuff beyond...

IIRC, there was one interview where Stock mentioned that he thought “After You’re Gone” was one of the best songs he ever wrote. It really would have been nice if the Suzette tracks had ever gotten a full album release!

And going from: To this: in just the span of a few years! I’m guessing her ex-manager/husband Jack Gordon was behind the change. Side note: I know I’m really late on this but I was totally surprised that La Toya did a version of “Trouble,” a song Nia Peeples took to #1 on the Billboard club...

La Toya with the hat snatch! I wonder if this was planned or if Toy-toy just had beef with this particular gal’s choice of millinery? I have such fondness for this album, I first learned about it when I shoplifted a copy of gentleman’s magazine Torso in high school haha.

An odd one that popped up on Spotify. John James out of Canada and his 1989 album “Big Fat Soul” has “She Bought Love,” with the album version remixed by Extra Beat Boys (and I pretty sure it’s what was labeled the London Mix on the 12”) and the Extended Mix which was courtesy of Pete Hammond.

Poor Rick out at 21! The Popjustice pro-girl singer bias is in full effect. I <3 that Divine and Pete Burns are the last “men” left hahaha.

Wow, I have the UK promo 12” but never seen the French even close to my price range. I tip my hat to you good sir! (While secretly trying to see how I can geolocate your house for ransacking haha.) ;-)

Random question but I remember on one of the old forums or possibly a FB group someone posted pics of the fabulous French 12” for Bananarama’s “Last Thing On My Mind.” (It stuck out as I hadn’t even been aware that existed until that post lol.) That just clicked with your user name in my mind...

Totally! I listened to it so much that to this day when I hear Rick’s” Together Forever “ I’m half waiting for those chants to start. I mentioned once to Tony King on FB how much I loved that transition and he seemed really pleased to hear it.

Respect to @Disco Blister for picking this for his 50! When I got “A Ton of Hits,” it was the first time I’d heard many of the songs and I remember “They Say It’s Gonna Rain” being the first of those unknowns that became an immediate obsession for me.

Haha, ok I looked and it was you who mentioned having the vinyl of this and Sally Anne. Both are totally prized possessions of mine so it stood out as no one I know in person even cares about those remotely haha. Still so jealous of your “You’re My Everything” vinyl! :-D

You’ve blown my mind sky high! Newton would be so flattered if he knew. I wonder if he went back to being a fire fighter when the “hits” dried up? I would be so in, such a fabulous trash heap of an era. It’s been amazing how much of the S&A stuff is on Spotify, Sally Anne Marsh “Windmills of...
