It was used in an ad or something, wasn't it? Also it was released in January when sales were lower. The "prrrrrt" is quite annoying. Personally I don't think any of the singles from that album were that great.

At last, unveiled - "I Love The Heaven's Solo" entered (and probably peaked?) at #112 on the UK charts. Let's see where "You Make The Whole World Cry" landed on when they reach February 1992.

    The Reissue Thread!

Ghastly artwork, and a shame they did not add the vinyl-only b-side "Fireflies in the Kitchen", nor unreleased tracks (maybe there aren't any?) I'll sure be buying this, though.

Fairground Attraction - Beautiful Happening (Sep 20) + 2024 Tour

I have not followed her solo career that much, but this is one of my favourite singles of the 90s. Deserved to go top 10.

Yes, Deep Sea Skiving was their highest charting studio album. In retrospective, the Wow! singles are seen now as such classics it's weird to see the album never troubled the top 20 at least.

I get why that was done since they were seen as a trio, but given that the cover art used individual pics I always wished it had been something more like this.

I'm always amazed at how much of a flop the Wow! album was, at least initially. When released in September 1987, it entered at #61 on the chart, then disappeared the next week. I will never get why LITFD was not released as a single a week or two before the album, but later in the month. It...

Jacquie is credited on the BMI site as cowriter of Only Your Love, What Colour R The Skies Where U Live and I Can't Let You Go, but she was somehow not credited on the album.

I believe only Siobhan is credited as a writer in The Bluebells version, and in fact, when it went to #1 in 1993, she was taken to court along with The Bluebells' singer Robert Hodgens by I can't remember who, who claimed to have also written it (and won, so he's also gaining royalties now)...

No idea, but I always thought he was a nice rapper. Having a look at discogs I'm amazed at the things he guested in, and that he had some PWL life post that Roadblock rap. He was on the WWF Superstars album (I never bothered tracking that album down), and on Serena's Ridin' High. And also he...

Kimberly had such a great pop voice! I love her lead on On A Wing And A Prayer. The USA guitar version is my go-to version.

How strange since it's labelled as "New version" on the single??? The Cappucino Songs sounded so different from her other albums, very fresh and up-to-date, and a lot less moody. I still enjoy it a lot, and my ringtone for years has been that instrumental part that is played at the very end of...

No, had no idea about it, looks like I'll have something to look for a while, thank you! Thursday's Child peaked at #132. Don't think I've ever heard the single version, is it much different?

One of the first things I'd look if someone ever leaks those legendary 76-100 positions from 1991/92 would be where (I refuse to say  If) "I Love The Heaven's Solo" and "You Make The Whole World Cry" positioned on the UK Singles chart. As well as Bananarama's Tripping On Your Love.

This beauty turned 33 yesterday. I'm always torn between Everybody's Angel and Lovers In the City as her second-best WEA album after her debut. While I think LITC has better songs, I love the overall mood and flow of songs of Everybody's Angel. Such an inspired production, especially coming...

Thanks! I guess it is indeed the 7" single version

Old songs that you're just realising rip off other songs

Thanks! I think it may be a cross between the synthesised harp-like sounds from Gypsy and Seven Wonders. I guessed it had to be a Stevie song, but since the only album I really know by heart by the band is Tango In the Night, it was driving me nuts.

Old songs that you're just realising rip off other songs

I had not heard this in quite some time (loved it when it came out), and I just realized the instrumentation reminds me of a Fleetwood Mac song, only I can't pinpoint which one, and it's nagging me a lot. Anyone also hears it and can identify it???

Has the 7" version of Sylvian/Sakamoto's Bamboo Houses ever been on CD? I know David Sylvian has included it on some of his compilations, albeit in remixed form. Then I found this on discogs which matches the 7" edit timing but no mention of it being that version...

    Disappointing Comebacks

I'm more of a casual fan, but for Belinda lovers I guess an album of mantras was not what fans wanted at all after 10 years.
