    The Reissue Thread!

I was speaking to Jon Jon on Facebook. He said there are lots of unreleased 1986 tracks but Larry had the tapes and he can't get to them. He also said London Records sadly halted the reissue of Truthdare Doubledare. I like this unreleased song. It has that trademark Bronski sound at 0:26

Jimmy Somerville / Bronski Beat / The Communards

I’m not gay but even if I can’t relate to all the lyrics, I consider The Age of Consent an exceptional synth pop album. The music rivals Depeche Mode in places. Smalltown Boy has a universal theme but I thought “Why?” was more direct. Jimmy singing “turn around and kiss his lips” on daytime TV...

Jimmy Somerville / Bronski Beat / The Communards

Posting this for those who haven't seen it but a nice interview with Jon Foster. It's a really great insight into the history of the band. The story of the various Bronski Beat members is really tragic. I didn't know Jon Foster left Bronski Beat because he discovered he had both HIV and cancer...

Sugababes - The Lost Tapes (Deluxe)

Fact of the day. ABBA and the Sugababes have both spent exactly 273 weeks in the UK top 75.

Sugababes - The Lost Tapes (Deluxe)

Well the only point of contention is whether Lost Tapes is a studio album or compilation. Since it contains mostly unreleased material, I would say it's a studio album. Also let's not forget Buchanan was involved in the early stages of Sweet 7.

    Zara Larsson - VENUS

Lush Life was a classic and she can sing it live really well, no lip sync at all. However she has really struggled for quality material after that song. This one is probably the best since Lush Life but it's hard not to see it as anything than a rehash of Blinding Lights.

    Nik Kershaw

Oh yeah. At some stage I want to go through the official Live Aid release and add the tracks that are missing. Since there will be quality differences, I might just add them on separate discs as "outtakes"

Sounds like the single version, which is just the album version but with a shorter fade out. Likewise, the album version of WAHB is only about 10 seconds longer and you have to turn the volume up to hear the extra part.

Here is an odd thing that totally passed me by. The Live Aid digital release from 2018 was expanded at some point and is now over 9 hours and includes Nik’s full performance...

Hmmm that should be track 21. Are you sure it’s not a mix up on the downloads site or your folders?

All Important Single Edits On CD

It seems there is a 1986 US single version and UK single version which are different to each other. Here is a summary from the excellent "crapfromthepast" from the top 40 on CD forum.
