UK Politics: General Despondency + General Election 2024

For the UK anyway, I think the VAST majority are just relaxed/live and let live type people, and most online discourse is just the far right and far left arguing with each other. Ban internet comment sections and let the world heal.

Aren’t loads of Reform’s most vocal supporters Russian bots?

    Doctor Who

Yeah that was weird actually, what was the point of that? She’s quite a name and they brought her in for very little? As an aside, the main reason I enjoyed that finale is because I’ve forced myself to accept a lot of the flaws in the basic premise of Doctor Who, which are also why I’ll never...

    Doctor Who

Oh I really enjoyed it! I’m no Who-fanatic but I have noticed fans love to assume a mystery character is somebody from the classic series, based on very little evidence. I don’t even know who The Rani is but everybody seems to be The Rani, in their eyes. The mum reveal was a bit disappointing...

Perrie - "Tears" + Debut Album

It’s not a hit single but people calling this terrible/awful etc are overreacting a tad? It’s got a lovely melody and a solid chorus, plus she sounds gorgeous. Still enjoyable.

    Doctor Who

Do we know exactly who Susan Twist is? Did I miss that? Has it actually been explained why she kept turning up wherever the doctor went?

Perrie - "Tears" + Debut Album

I'm sure somebody else said it but my immediate thought was it has a vaguely similar vibe to Espresso, so when they realised they had an Espresso-lite song ready to go, they chucked it out asap. It's nice but I don't think it's going to be saving the campaign any time soon.

    Grief & Mourning

My husband and I had a fairly shitty 2021, with seven funerals in nine months (my aunty, my mum, my dad, my great aunt, my great uncle, my husband’s great aunt and my mum’s best friend). Well, we’ve managed to beat that. Next week, we have three funerals in a row. Wednesday - his great aunt...

    Katy Perry - "Woman’s World" (Jul 11) + 6th Album

To be fair, pop moves so fast, if this is ditched and relegated to an album track, this will just be a footnote in the album's history. All is not lost...yet...

    Music Industry

I think the main reason is because labels are desperate for the money so multiple formats is how they turn a profit (obviously I’m talking about smaller acts). Plus streaming has made the album chart fairly meaningless and messy so I doubt there’s much desire to fix it.

I’m allowed to hate the Welsh cos I’m Welsh, but this is too far, Taylor.

Nooooo! It’s beautiful! I can’t stand James Corden and would have preferred somebody else, but I love that version.

    Doctor Who

That was epic! What a brilliant episode. This whole series has reignited my love for Doctor Who. I know zilch about classic who so is Sutekh somebody the doctor has faced before?

Taylor Swift - The Tortured Poets Department

This album has become one of my favourites of hers. I did a slight trim and I’m left with 24 songs, but that collection is damn-near bulletproof. It’s obviously on the mellow side but once you get past the overwhelming number of songs, there’s some incredible moments.

Taylor Swift - The Tortured Poets Department

You have to spend £15 to get three live tracks? Come on now Taylor. Also, I’m no big swiftie but I do love a conspiracy theory and this is such a boring announcement. I need it to be something better for the 100th show.

The Power Rangers Universe - MMPR 30th Anniversary

What a shocking turn of events, that absolutely nobody saw coming. It’s a funny time for the franchise as the Lightning Collection is “on hiatus” (dead), the comic book is ending in August (though presumably they’re just doing a big reset), and now this. It’s kinda crazy because it is still...

    Doctor Who

Yeah I didn’t enjoy it either. It felt really disjointed. Why would aliens in the 1800s know about cosplaying? That was really cringey and silly. It felt it was just an excuse for a Bridgerton episode with no real justification for it.

Lost Boys & Fairies (BBC Drama)

I’ve watched the first episode and although I couldn’t relate to many of the circumstances, the depiction of the feelings and gay shame were far too real. I spent the whole episode with this weight on my chest. I almost don’t want to watch anymore, it was far too accurate. Plus the welshness...
