The Avalanches - Wildflower (Album) + Frankie Sinatra (Single)

It's a bit silly isn't it? But then pop probably needs a bit more silliness right now. Most things are a bit flat-pack. It's been a while since I've heard some oompah on a song!

    Ryn Weaver

She's put 1 minute and 30 seconds of the song on Soundcloud about an hour ago I hate it when artists do this, but it's better than nothing I guess https://soundcloud.com/rynweaver/the-fool

    BBC Sound of 2015

Once Years and Years have won it they'll join The Bravery (2005) and Keane (2004) as the only 3 bands to have topped the poll since it started. That's what the journalists will go for, alongside the all male poll thing. The only previous all male top 5 was 2005 (The Bravery, Bloc Party...

Does anyone know who is supporting Charli at Heaven this Thursday?

    Taylor Swift - 1989

For me this album is like the sum of the parts of many 'credible' pop acts of the last couple of years, all rolled into one, with those 80's references sprinkled on top then given a good squeeze of Swift's songwriting all bundled into an easily accessible package. Or rather - it's very good...

    Kylie: K25 Releases and Events.

Agree with everything above. When she was dancing round with the lyric sheets in her hand it seemed strangely intimate and joyful - like watching Kylie prepare for a show in her bedroom. Disco Down was superb. In fact everything was superb. Crowd reaction was brilliant. Tickets may have been...

    Kylie: K25 Releases and Events.

Wow that was easy - got to my PC late, thought it would be sold out - HMV tickets still had standing tickets for Hammersmith. Purchased very easily ! Very very happy.

    BBC Sound Of 2012

I though Banks would be higher than 3rd just because of all the hype around her. So I reckon the 1st 2 is between 4 1. Michael Kiwanuka 2. Frank Ocean 3. Spector 4. Lianne La Havas Last year it was easy to call the top 2, this year really not sure..... Everyone is saying that indie / guitar...

Clare Maguire - Light After Dark (Album)

That's what her first demos sounded like, before the big record company involvement and over production of much of the first album. If anyone here has heard her cover of Butcher Boy or Burn or the original stripped back version of Strangest Thing (the 1st demos that surfaced) they'll know how...

    BBC Sound of 2012

Anyone got any thoughts who will be on this years list ? Last year there were some clear cut ones who were going to make it namely Jessie J, James Blake and Clare Maguire, this year it seems less clear. There's an awful lot of new acts out there fighting for space, with no huge front runners...

Lana Del Rey - Born To Die

Can anyone tell me will the ep be eligible for the singles charts or not ? 4 tracks with music lasting about 23 minutes ??

Lana Del Rey - Born To Die

The original soundcloud embed of the song posted earlier this year by a previous PR company before Purple took over stated 'Justin Parker and Robopop' if I remember correctly.

    Hurts.

Yep brilliant set last night - almost shed a tear during Unspoken. The first couple of songs didn't quite hit home as the sound levels weren't quite right, but once they had that sorted the rest of the set was both stylish and gutsy in equal measure. Loved the ticker tape (red of course)...

    Hurts.

I was at Glastonbury. The set list is incorrect - Wonderful Life was played (about 3rd in I think). Also the live sound (rather than the sound through your TV set) was great. It depended where you were standing though - friends of mine who were elsewhere in the tent said it was too echoey but...
