Chappell Roan - "The Giver" + 2nd Album

I've only recently discovered the brilliance of Shania's Don't Be Stupid, which awakened my fiddle kink, so this is perfectly timed. That chorus is pure sunshine.

    The Saturdays

Forever Is Over relies heavily on Vanessa but I adore Rochelle's chilly second verse and Frankie's lil adlib on the chorus.

    RuPaul's Drag Race (S17)

This episode was incredible while also stressful to watch just because Jewels is such a sweetheart. She took the high road, which is admirable, but Onya eviscerating Lexi and Arrietty (without breaking a sweat) on her behalf made me so happy and balanced things out.

    RuPaul's Drag Race (S17)

    Obsessed with the crummy rollup.

    Olly Alexander - Polari

The bursts of dead air in Cupid's Bow are just funny to me at this point. Was I supposed to bring my own chorus or

    Olly Alexander - Polari

Oh my first playthrough was a hoot and I may have teared up a little when Miss You So Much's chorus kicked in...

    Marianne Faithfull

Broken English is one of my go-to albums but shamefully, I've never explored Marianne's work beyond that. Obviously I've been remedying that this weekend, in fairly random order. Currently obsessed with the duality of They Come At Night (alt version!) and Sex with Strangers.

    Katy Perry - 1432

    I absolutely loathe hydrangeas Daisies.

    Katy Perry - 1432

Pushing OK when No Tears For New Years is the least-worst song of the era and also relevant to the season

Sky Ferreira - "Leash" + General Discussion

Whew, nothing hits quite like a new Sky Ferreira track. Like Don't Forget, the songwriting and production is so rich and meaty. Obsessed with the little countdown and the way I still fumble "three" despite having listened to the song 50 times.

Taylor Swift - The Tortured Poets Department

Honestly it's the only track I go back to. The structure is cool and that creamy, Sundays-esque alt rock sound suits her. I'd love a full album in that vein minus the high school themes, which she nailed on this song to be fair.

    Olly Alexander - Polari

I like the production across everything we've heard so far. Even if the songs aren't quite landing for me, it feels like Olly has more up his sleeve than he did for Night Call (although that album's title track will be hard to top).

    Glastonbury

Someone from my group got through but none of us have received an email confirmation yet which has added a lovely dash of tension to our Sunday afternoons.

    TLC

Oops I missed the Fanmail anniversary discussion but I've been hammering it lately and it's even better than I remember. The singles run always stresses me out if I think about it too long but this whole time I didn't know there basically was a fourth single in the form of What It Ain't...

    Horror films

I finally watched The First Omen and it's kinda fantastic. It went to some wild places. I haven't seen the original's sequels, are they worth watching? Realising the Sonia Braga, AKA Samantha Jones' best love interest, was the Mother Superior at the end was the cherry on top.

    Mighty Hoopla

The line-up is working for me if I ignore the price hike. Amy Studt is a folkier artist these days so it'll be interesting to see how far she embraces the Hoopla vibe. The first album's many bops plus Nice Boys deserve their moment.

    Daphne & Celeste

I've been having a real moment with Save the World lately so this is amazing news. I had come to terms with the likelihood that we would have to wait another 18 years for a follow-up. But Max joining them for Hoopla is promising.

    Kylie Minogue - Tension II

I have realistic expectations for a Side B moment, but Dance to the Music... yeesh.

I refuse to eat anything that has a face. Sadly, throughout October, that includes pumpkins.

    The Boulet Brothers' Dragula (S666)

I'm glad the Boulets specifically praised Desiree's early season energy. That energy must have been on the moodboard for the season as a whole because James Majesty is here and still a menace. It's probably why I'm enjoying season 666 so much. The balance of chaos and talent feels right so far...
