It's really amazing what a change of producer will do. The melodies in Ultraviolence are very Lana - Brooklyn Baby's chorus has the same exact chord progression as the Summertime Sadness chorus - it's just that the good people of this forum aren't the usual target of the bluesy rock sound.

Saturdays4Eva, seems like this is an official radio single now? Any info on why this song and why now?

Lana's styling is right on the #normcore trend. Girl knows what's up with the tumblr generation.

For those expecting a crisp mid-tempo for lead single: have we forgotten that Lana's first single, and one of her highest charting ones - Video Games - was a torch ballad? One with a chorus yes, but its tempo was hardly rousing. This psychedelic rock-chick mixed with classic Lana influences...

She was great when I saw her for multiple shows back in fall 2012 for CMJ, and I've always heard positive things about her live act until the months before NTMT... I think this whole anti-pop star mindset she has is being taken a little too far.
