    Ella Henderson - Chapter One

Re: Ella Henderson - Chapter One (Album) + "Ghost" (First single) Anyone think that Glow reminds them of a Wrecking Ball/Diamonds hybrid? The synths at the opening are so Wrecking Ball as are the way Ella delivers the verses, and those grinding synths in the Diamonds chorus is present in Glow...

    Lana Del Rey - Ultraviolence

It's really amazing what a change of producer will do. The melodies in Ultraviolence are very Lana - Brooklyn Baby's chorus has the same exact chord progression as the Summertime Sadness chorus - it's just that the good people of this forum aren't the usual target of the bluesy rock sound.

Saturdays4Eva, seems like this is an official radio single now? Any info on why this song and why now?

    Ella Henderson - Chapter One

Re: Ella Henderson - Chapter One (Album) + "Ghost" (First single) Syco really need to move to the 21st century and stop launching acts like it's 1995. That being said, it looks like it's working for Ella. Ghost's monstrous chorus is really Ryan Tedder at his best.

    Lana Del Rey - Ultraviolence

Lana's styling is right on the #normcore trend. Girl knows what's up with the tumblr generation.

Cher Lloyd - Sorry I'm Late

Re: Cher Lloyd- Sorry I'm Late (2nd album) (it's HAPPENING!) Yes, but the stuff she's putting out is much more juvenile than that. I mean, MFPOTY? Really? Dark Horse became a song that everybody could bop along too - kids, hip young 20 somethings, and the occasional adult - but there's nothing...

Cher Lloyd - Sorry I'm Late

Re: Cher Lloyd- Sorry I'm Late (2nd album) (it's HAPPENING!) Sigh. Cher had/has so much more potential than this music for 11 year olds thing. Her label should have taken one listen to 'Dark Horse' and ordered 12 of those from Max and Dr. Luke.

Sia - 1000 Forms of Fear

^ Really? Kat Perkins was the one horrifically off key at times. This campaign is a good example of proper artist brand management. Congrats to her marketing team.

    Lana Del Rey - Ultraviolence

For those expecting a crisp mid-tempo for lead single: have we forgotten that Lana's first single, and one of her highest charting ones - Video Games - was a torch ballad? One with a chorus yes, but its tempo was hardly rousing. This psychedelic rock-chick mixed with classic Lana influences...

Sky Ferreira - Night Time, My Time

She was great when I saw her for multiple shows back in fall 2012 for CMJ, and I've always heard positive things about her live act until the months before NTMT... I think this whole anti-pop star mindset she has is being taken a little too far.

Kylie Minogue - Kiss Me Once (Album) / Singles

Re: Kylie Minogue - Kiss Me Once (Album) / Into The Blue (Single) I for one am very glad that Sia may be executive producing this - I feel like she's someone that would really 'get' Kylie and the kind of music she puts out.

Katy B - Little Red (Album)

It's still #47 on mine but I wouldn't be surprised if this rose really quickly - all the makings of a smash! Totally and well deserved as well.

Paloma Faith - A Perfect Contradiction

Re: Paloma Faith - New Album (March 3rd, 2014) Paloma always surprises me. I thought she'd fade out by the last album and yet her star keeps progressively getting brighter... good for her. Good case of slow and steady artist development. Love the song - bit Pharrell by the numbers but Paloma's...

    Britney Spears - Britney Jean

Re: Britney Spears - Britney Jean (Album + Singles) I love Work Bitch. It's so robotic and icy - she just sounds so bored throughout the entire thing, which makes it even more amazing.

    Ariana Grande - Yours Truly

Re: Ariana Grande - Yours, Truly (Album) + Baby, I (2nd Single) It's probably cause she's a very pretty girl and people tend to have biases against very pretty girls unless they show their talent and worth, which Ariana clearly has.

    Britney Spears - Britney Jean

Re: Britney Spears - Britney Jean (Album + Singles) So, how did will.i.am and co get away with putting out "Now That I Found You" which a strong melodic similarity to 'Wake Me Up'? The drop's melody resemblance seems more than a coincidence, given that it sounds almost exactly the same as 'Wake...

Mariah Carey - Me. I Am Mariah...The Elusive Chanteuse

Re: Mariah Carey - 14th Studio Album + The Art Of Letting Go (Single) I love The Art of Letting Go and it seems sad that it may flop, but what I really want Mariah to do is to remix the KP song 'Birthday' and release it ASAP during the spring. Talk about a smash straight from 1991.

    Lady Gaga - ARTPOP

Re: Lady Gaga - ARTPOP (Album + Singles) Dope could've been so good, but her vocal delivery kills it... less deadpan vocals and more breathy emotional ones, please.

    Karmin - General Discussion

Re: Karmin - Acapella (Single) / Pulses (Album) Discussion Feel bad for them - they're clearly hard workers and for Epic to let Acapella flop - it had the momentum, just needed a bit more push - can't say it wasn't expected though.
