    Ace of Base

Here is a list of stuff which I have that I believe hasn't been officially released yet in any form. I have excluded stuff by d'Cats and solo stuff, even if it was intended for AOB. That excludes lovely tracks like Lapponia & Lovesong which probably don't exist as full band demos. Also excluding...

What is the feeling regarding The Golden Ratio? Is it pretty much disowned by even the two male members?

    Ace of Base

They are all Christians but also remember that European Christianity is not the same as the so called Christianity in America (gays are bad, you are all going to hell etc)

    Ace of Base

I have been listening to a lot of those leaked/Ace Thursdays on Facebook demos. What's interesting is that many of them have better dynamic range and are less compressed than the versions found later albums such as Hidden Gems. Kyrie Elision Facebook version has a DR of 12, the Hidden Gems...

    The Reissue Thread!

It's available on Qobuz so I just bought the two new tracks. I asked Barney Ashton-Bullock (the project co-ordinator for AOC). He said: I located it on a mislabelled reel when auditing through all the I Feel Love masters.

    Sugababes - "Weeds” + 9th Album

New single is OK. Doesn't really fit in with the current pop music trends. Lacks bombastic upbeat chorus like the Bruno Mars stuff. It's good but won't be a hit. Parts of it remind me of Sophie Ellis Bextor's "Get Over You"

    Ella Henderson - Everything I Didn't Say

I don’t know why the American sounding flop Filthy Rich is played on Scottish radio at lease twice an hour. I’m out of loop with modern pop. Are chart positions irrelevant now?

Now That's What I Call Music (Nostalgia)

I was 17 in 1998. Sun Machine was played on the radio all the time but I didn't know it was a David Bowie cover at the time. 1998 was a strange time when you think about it. Britpop had ended but Robbie Williams was ready to fill the void for people who wanted a laddish icon to look up to. It's...

    Rosé - rosie

I’m in my early 40s but… Apt - cute, super catchy but inconsequential. It’s like that Ting Tings song. It will be a hit but mostly forgotten about 5 years later. Good for indie parties. *Kissy face on the phone* Gracie - interchangeable with Taylor Swift. Bruno & Gaga - another boring whiny...

    The Reissue Thread!

Just picked up Peter Godwin's The Polydor Years. Stunning remaster. Very dynamic and no vinyl rips. Remastered by Oli Hemmingway, who also did the recent Bronski Beat (but unfortunately not the main album). Someone give this guy more remastering jobs please.

    Tom Bailey / Thompson Twins

Yeah it was rather "close to the bone" pardon the pun. She said at the time they drifted apart but obviously there was something else. Tom did marry his next door neighbour. I am glad he is happy anyway and at least the band members appear to have a respect for each other.

    The Human League

Yes, very good that. Pretty much every other song on Crash would have been a better single.

    The Reissue Thread!

Thank you for your email. Here is the info you asked for: Do you know why the box has been delayed again? – It is out in February – there were legal problems that had to be sorted hence the delay but we have added 5 tracks that weren’t on the original version Do you know if any tracks will...

Zara Larsson - "Pretty Ugly" (TBD) + 5th Album

I feel the same. You just have to watch her live performances. Lush Life is a great pop song, one the best in recent times but it's even better live especially towards the end. She really has struggled for material as good as Lush Life. The a-ha/Weeknd knock off Can't Tame Her was good but she...

    Darren Hayes

His music isn't really my thing and I haven't read the bio but Darren still seems to be a little uncomfortable with himself. It's probably a result of many things included his childhood but I sincerely wish for him to find peace. One thing that I find sad is that he had to hide his sexuality in...

    The Reissue Thread!

A fan named Mark sent them cleaned up copies of the Nobody Knows Harding mix and this RM mix. It may be possible they will use that, though he said he got no thanks from them. If they sound good, I am ok with vinyl rips. Nik did say he found sound mixes so I am hoping he provided cleaner copies...
