Kate has such a crazy range of styles that pretty much anything sung by anyone will sound like something Kate did at some point. Was there a particular bit of Silver Eye that struck you as especially Kate-like? To me, it just sounds like Alison being Alison.

FWIW, Purple Rain is my least favorite song on the album as well. I just like Prince when he's doing uptempo stuff better. My wife thinks the title track is possibly the best Prince track ever, she prefers his ballads. So go figure.
