This just feels so carefree and laidback and chill and I’m all here for it. Maybe it’s the sun in the sky but it’s sounding good to me.
I do appreciate that lyrically it’s very slight and lacking any real depth but maybe she just wanted to have some fun and I’m all here for it!
Warrior is a lot of fun to listen to if you don't have any backstory to go alongside it! I've no idea what they were thinking with that album cover though...
I mentioned this before but it started off a lot stronger than how it finished. They were doing their own thing in those first few episodes and then it just seemed to be 'let's now copy Love Island'.
I was fine with them throwing in some new boys after a couple of days but that should have been...
I enjoyed her listening party on YouTube.
She said she was toying with 'Reflections' or 'Beyond the Universe' as the next single. On the latter, she had tried to get Morten Harket from A-ha to guest feature on it with her but he declined.
I'm glad she explained the reasoning for using those...
Have those comments since been deleted? I can't see them?
Anyway, with Shaznay saying she definitely hasn't fallen out with Appleton and it being mentioned in that recent Appleton interview that All Saints were ''on a break'' I guess we just have to assume they all need a time out from the band.
Yeah she mentioned 'Pink Lemonade' a few years back when speaking about the finished album and saying she wanted to release it with a video.
I really hope this is a sign that she's finally getting another album out.
I've always loved Familia too. I think Wanderlust is lovely but Familia felt like it gave us more traditional Sophie (sonically) than Wanderlust did.
I actually woke up this morning with 'Until the Wheels Fall Off' in my head so even though I wasn't that fussed on the song after my first few...
Yeah, I am happy to be proven wrong here. I also felt like this was sounding like a really dull album and would be a massive flop era for her. No.3 in the midweeks is fantastic, even if it drops a little by Friday and the album is actually really lovely.
You don't like it, that's fine, ha. I really enjoy it. It doesn't sound odd to me at all but then I like quirky and unexpected stuff like that in songs. I does challenge the listener somewhat because it makes the song sound dark and desperate which is a contrast to the happy lyrics but then...
This is more than a single release now, this is like a 'moment'. I'm so thrilled she gets to experience this, at this point in her career, because I don't think anyone could have predicted it.
'Blur' and 'Kill the Lights' always felt very single-worthy to me. Circus is far from my favourite album but it did have quite a few singles ready and waiting to be released.
