I don't have much to say here. "Swan" was one of the singles from her 5th album, "Man". All I remember was torn choosing between the other two singles for this rate. I ended up picked "Swan" over "I Fell In Love" because the former had a music video.

Also, yes, it's a slower song. And, yes, I gave it over 4. Miracles happen!!!!!!!! Then again, I like her voice, and the water drop in the instrumental was a great idea? It seems a polarizing addition, perhaps, but I'm team pro-drop in this fight. I think it suited well and made the song more ~unique.

Anyway, it's still one of my lowest scores from her so if something from her needed to leave, I won't complain it's this one.

★★★

@berserkboi (9): Beautiful little song!

I am both happy and nervous whenever I get tagged for this rate. It's a mixed bag of "Yay, another elimination" and "what if it's a song I really like!"
Guess what?

You are being tagged again!

Sadly, for a song you like.

Sadly for me too stop eliminating my UTT!!!!!!!!!!!

"Half" is the second single of "Magic To Go To My Star", and I'm always amused by the change of mood between the two singles. Whilst "Crazy" is her darkest single, "Half" is possibly the lightest, not made for the charts, just for her fans. I'll have to Ban you for the low scores hahaha I'm so funny I know.

Despite not being surprised by this one leaving, it still saddens me because I find it so... relatable? This is the kind of entry that leaves a "oh my god that's sooooo me" feeling, from the outfits to the josefa cringe dance (I'm an awful dancer myself, so I always end up making some weird choreos instead). This is the kind of song where the live performance enhances the experience for me. Maybe it's just because she is my personal fave, but STILL.

Speak of dancing, this is available at some rhythm games - as uhhhh most of her songs? Queen of techno and rhythm gaming!

★★★

@Kneehigh Girl (10): The choreography for Half was a lot of fun back in the day. The backup dancer with the afro-wig would always crack me up.

@berserkboi (6,3): The trend of cringe bopping continues ddd

Why are you making me suffer eliminating my high scores I'm already suffering enough with LOONA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, "Go Away" is here representing her third album, "The Age Ain't Nothing But a Number". With this elimination, Park Ji Yoon becomes the second main artist to lose half of her songs. On the bright side, it's the first song to get a 7,5+ average.

I personally really like how this song is built up. There have been comments about questionable vocals, but I honestly don't mind? It just misses the ~it factor~ or something of the sort to be a 10/10 song for me.

★★★

@berserkboi (9): A very pretty tune, vocals not the best though I must say...

@Kneehigh Girl (6): The song itself is fine, but her vocals don’t really fit the chorus. I’ll probably get used to it the more I listen to it (because I will listen to it many, many, many times).

Poor Park Ji Yoon, now with four songs left. ddd

This was her debut single, back in 1997, when she was 15. Fun fact: I was today years old when I found out it is actually a cover of Locust's song (a group I hadn't heard of until today). I watched a live performance of it (posted below), and there are some arrangement changes between both versions. I particularly prefer Ji Yoon's, but the other is not bad.

If there is something I love about this debut is the music video. It SCREAMS 90's it hurts. The oversaturated blue, especially. The super realistic blue eyes, the part with a contrasting red background, the b&w.................. I have no worlds. There is a video of a banger with a similar aesthetic.

And both were released in the same year! Coincidence???? I don't think so!

And the rap somehow fits the song? I truly enjoy it. All in all, great debut! Gutted it didn't make the top 50 here.

★★★

@berserkboi (10): This is amazingly soft yet dancey! The Male Rap even adds to its perfection!

@BeingNormal (9,25): Idk why but I love the understated feeling and the contrast between Ji Yoon singing and the rap

@Kneehigh Girl (9): Never took the time to dive into Park Ji Yoon’s discography before. Initial reaction: This song is kind of nice. There’s something very soothing about the way she sings this song. Final reaction: I love it.

We are back to the extras again! This is a funny case. "In Summer" is actually a cover of boygroup Deux's. I'm not sure which one is more popular, I'm leaning it's hers, because this track is covered by a lot of idols and cover YouTubers, and I see more mentions of her instead. Anyway, despite being a hit back in 2003... I can't find anything else about her? Because all I get are the other 34789278942389 Seo Yeons from more recent girlgroups (and even T-ARA's and (G)I-DLE's Soyeon). That means I have no idea where she is and what she is doing now. Sorry!

The song itself is good and I prefer it over Deux's version, but it's a bit of a filler track. The remix though!!!! That one is a hit, indeed. Just... less summery and more ravey. ddddd

As I said before, if you enjoy watching covers, I recommend searching for them on Youtube because there are lots and I could only select two due to media limit. I ended up picking 1st gen sensation Lee Hyori's (as SSAK3) and Bada's.

@berserkboi (9): Very pretty Bec Cartwright style pop - page Melbs and Poptarts! :) - @livefrommelbs @iheartpoptarts you have been pinged
