1st Live Show

Did Cheryl actually say to Treyc that she needed to hit a really big note in her intro.Wish Treyc had asked Cheryl to show her how its done.Cheryl would have run away to have more fake bake added.

I'm disappointed that most people were underwhelming. I probably enjoyed about 2 or 3 performances, and it was overly-long. The splurging of staging money on shit contestants whilst people with good voices were left to look lost on that monster of a stage was bewildering. And even then, the likes of Rebecca and TreyC didn't wow me like I expected them to.

Other thoughts:
1. This show needs a judge who knows something about singing. That Belle Amie's total flatness wasn't picked up on was a bit of a joke.
2. Mary was great.
3. It pains me to say that Cher was good.
4. Everyone was too nice.
5. Cheryl doth protest too much.
6. Diva Fever and Wagner should go.
7. John and Belle Amie will go.

Bit of a Holly clone, but paradoxically more genuine about her enthusiasm.
NO ONE was more enthusiastic than Holly! Konnie's not terrible, to be fair, but I just think she's a bit disingenuous. I just think that she, like Dermot, doesn't really give a shit about the show.

You are so right a bigger stage, flashy props and more dancers did not detract from the fact that this year has fewer acts that can actually sing.It was more like a Butlins variety performance.Rebecca did not have the right song but there were maybe 4 good acts tonight period.

he/him
I really think the "niceness" tonight was a bit of an act. In light of the contestant controversies if they're nice to everyone then we'll believe they deserve to be there -- not many got negative feedback tonight.

The stage was the star of the show. So many contestants using it to compensate for a lack of any talent. It's almost like throwing everything at the wall and seeing what stuck.

It was annoying the amount of attention heaped on Katie and Cher tonight. Cher was quite average and Katie looked and sounded well below average. There were other ways to get over the whole "Gamu-gate".

Cheryl really irritated me tonight. I'm not sure why? I think maybe her solo success has gone to her head and now she seems to think she's a musical Goddess or something?

Katie looked (and sound) like an absolute twat.

Cheryl's comment about Nicolo's sunglasses being too much was a bit rich considering what she had Katie wearing. Cheryl was a bit shit overall tonight actually.

Paije was one of my favourites tonight, that song was perfect for him. I also loved Tesco Mary and Treyc.
Edit: And Aiden! Despite his strange staring.

He/Him
TreyC and Aiden for the final.

Simple as that.

Katie and Storm need to fuck off. Katie is trying to be a Gaga/Little Boots clone.
Storm is past it and needs to give up. He looks desperate.

John and Belle Amie will go I think.

The show was a bit shit all in all, wasn't it??

The wildcard just didn't work at all. There are now far too many contestants for this stage of the competition. It's hard to really root for anyone because there are so many of them and the show seemed SOOOO long. The people on at the beginning are going to get so lost, and i'd pretty much bet everything I own that the two that go tomorrow will be ones that performed in the first half of the show.

Surprisingly, I thought Aiden stole the show tonight, and was pretty much in a different league from the others. I've never been a Cher fan, but thought she was a complete popstar tonight. Mary was good - other than that, bland. Everybody keeps mentioning TreyC, but compare it to the Mary J. version, and it just screams average. I love Rebecca, but bad song choice, and Matt, who I had high hopes for, seemed completely awkward on stage, and the first half of the song is painful - he's going to have to do better to avoid being completely overshadowed by Aiden.

Diva Fever and Wagner - complete embarrassments to the show, cheapened the whole thing. If there was any justice, these would be the two acts going, but I'm thinking a Belle Amie (who were threw under a bus with an AWFUL song choice) and John departure. Think both FYD and Nicolo could be in a bit of danger as well...

Last night's show was interminable, I felt like I was watching Eurovision, with 2764 acts still to go and none of them particularly interesting.

It was definitely too long and even the few really great performances got sort of lost in the mix.

Aiden and Mary were definitely the best, Cher, Rebecca, TreyC, Matt and maybe even Paije deserve a special mention, too.

Diva Fever and Wagner should be the ones going but it could just as well be John - the most boring and Belle Amie - probably the worst vocal of the night.

For all that the general standard of the show was terrible, I found myself wishing above all else that there was an option to vote off Simon. What on Earth was all that shit about One Sweet Day? And if he's going to bang on about who/what is 'current' or 'relevant' all the time, why give one of his own acts a song that's over 30 years old?

He's actually managed to surpass Louis in the twat stakes, and that takes some doing.
