  2. Come on Over is already 20 years old here in North America.

  3. No Version 2.0? No Mezzanine?
  4. Most of these albums were my LIFE when I was 8 / 9 years old, haha.

  5. I own 3 of those ... I still listen to one ...

If PJ could be more disciplined we could have year appreciation threads ... but some nitwit would ruin it based on when they ‘found’ the album rather than actual release (see the one album wonders thread for details) …

The shade of including Brandy but ignoring Monica.

  7. The UK will never forgive her for stealing Angel Of Mine from Eternal... it's like Dionne Warwick vs Cilla Black in reverse...

    Pretty good year
(looks like test that even Bon Stanley would fail)

This being Popjustice, I thought you meant the Sugababes album Angels With Dirty Faces and I was like "how did that make it into a list of albums from 1998?"

I can't believe Beverley Knight's Prodigal Sista is 20 years old already. Wow.

  10. 1998 really seems like yesterday.

I remember at this time 20 years ago I was waiting breathlessly for Madonna's Ray of Light album to be released while the Titanic Soundtrack and Celine Dion's My Love is Your Love were dominating the charts.
  11. Some great albums.
    I feel old.

Another great album turning 20 this year:

Wikipedia's auto-suggestion for the description is so shady, though:

  14. 1998 was a glorious year for pop music, it's one of few years I still go back to and listen to.
Aqua - Turn Back Time and Billie Myers - Kiss the Rain remain a couple of my favourite pop songs to this day.

It was also a glorious year for R&B music.

(There's a reason I'm running a rate for R&B albums of 1998 - coming in the next month or two!)

  17. It's weird--I swear I can remember getting my life to all these albums as a young teenager...but I've only just turned 20 myself so the article must be a misprint.

  18. Ha.

I'm 35 in March... I mean... Someone shoot me.
  19. It all just doesn't compute and I need therapy or Doctor Who or something.
