2011 #1 Singles Rate - FINAL

He / Him / His
Okay y'all, so I said I'd start this on Boxing Day but I'm sitting here as Christmas Day draws to a close and since the final and 30th #1 single of the year has already been announced, now seems as good a time as any to begin it, eh? Incase you'd forgotten how this year had panned out, in the world of popular music, feast your eyes on this...

The best year, for UK #1s, in years? A travesty to music and the general taste of the Great British public? Well now is your chance to have your say! The rules of the rate simply involve you rating each song of a scale of 0-10 with a zero representing something so absolutely awful that it causes physical, mental and everlasting offence to the listener and a ten representing a song that truly enriches your life in an incomparable fasion. The following are the thirty songs which graced the top spot during the last twelve months:

Rihanna - What's My Name (feat. Drake)
Bruno Mars - Grenade
Ke$ha - We R Who We R
Jessie J - Price Tag (feat. B.o.B)
Adele - Someone Like You
Nicole Scherzinger - Don't Hold Your Breath
Jennifer Lopez - On The Floor (feat. Pitbull)
LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem (feat. Lauren Bennett and GoonRock)
Bruno Mars - The Lazy Song
Pitbull - Give Me Everything (feat. Ne-Yo, Nayer and Afrojack)
Example - Changed The Way You Kiss Me
Jason Derulo - Don't Wanna Go Home
DJ Fresh - Louder (feat. Sian Evans)
The Wanted - Glad You Came
JLS - She Makes Me Wanna (feat. Dev)
Cher Lloyd - Swagger Jagger
Nero - Promises
Wretch 32 - Don't Go (feat. Josh Kumra)
Olly Murs - Heart Skips a Beat (feat. Rizzle Kicks)
Example - Stay Awake
The Saturdays - All Fired Up
Pixie Lott - All About Tonight
One Direction - What Makes You Beautiful
Dappy - No Regrets
Sak Noel - Loca People
Rihanna - We Found Love (feat. Calvin Harris)
Professor Green - Read All About It (feat. Emile Sande)
X-Factor Finalists 2011 - Wishing on a Star (feat. JLS and One Direction
Olly Murs - Dance With Me Tonight
Little Mix - Cannonball
Military Wives - Wherever You Are (feat. Gareth Malone)

I haven't quite decided how long I'll keep the voting open for (at least a week but maybe a couple of days longer, but send them in right away). Merry Christmas y'all and let's hope 2012 brings us a lot more than this pile of shite.

P.S. If your browser is like mine, then changing your view to 50% might make the picture viewable in one go, without scrolling.

Re: 2011 #1 Singles Rate - VOTING OPEN

I forgot how many good number 1s there were! (And how many bad one's). Should be interesting!

Re: 2011 #1 Singles Rate - VOTING OPEN

What an awful year for #1's it has been!

Rihanna will probably win, and nab second place too, but with those songs she really doesn't deserve to. In an ideal world 'Louder' would win.

I just did it now and pretty much all of them were a 0.

There's two songs there that I like better than RIhanna's!

Eight for me.

I worry what these eight songs can be.

Well, there's only 2 songs I dislike there (which is quite a lot since I hardly use that word), then 8 I love and then I pretty much like the rest.

"Give Me Everything" is easily the best thing here.

I'm glad there's some love for that track. It's my second favourite #1 of the year. Dappy being third.

Loca People actually got to #1?! It's not even an actual song in my opinion.

That one is actually horrific. Probably the first time in a year singles rate that I've actively disliked a song.

Re: 2011 #1 Singles Rate - VOTING OPEN

It's honestly one of the worst songs I have ever heard. I don't know how some people I know can bash the likes of Friday for being 'shit' and then praise non-songs like that mess.

Re: 2011 #1 Singles Rate - VOTING OPEN

So... Rihanna, Adele and DJ Fresh are the only acts to release good number 1 singles this year...

Re: 2011 #1 Singles Rate - VOTING OPEN

There are 7 songs in this list that I didn't even know existed.

There are another 9 that whilst I know of them have never heard in my life.

There are 2 absolute classics.

I shall only be awarding one 10.
