    Rules

Simply guess the scores for each round of games by the assigned deadline. You can predict a winner or you can predict that the game ends in a draw. Just have a final score for every match. Make sure it's clear which team has what for goals.

You can PM your predictions to me so we don't have post-editing scandals or copying someone else's score as to stay ahead of them in the standings.

    Scoring

If you predict the correct winner or if you predict a draw correctly, then you get 3 points.

For each team that you have the correct number goals predicted for, you get an additional 1 point. So, you can get as many as 5 points per match.

Once we reach the knockout stages, the points will double because there will be more on the line. So that means a correct result gets you 6 points and each goal amount you guess correctly gets you an additional 2 points for a grand total of 10 possible points per match.

In the knockout stages you can still guess a draw which means you predict the match will go to a penalty shootout. We aren't predicting who would win a shootout, so just predict it as a draw.

    Deadlines

We will have staggered deadlines for the group stages, so you can predict each round of matches separately if you choose to.

The first round of Group Stage matches will be due June 13th.

The second round of Group Stage matches will be due June 18th.

The third round of Group Stage matches will be due June 24th.

The Round of 16 matches will be due June 29th.

The Quarterfinal matches will be due July 5th.

The Semifinal matches will be due July 9th.

The 3rd Place and Final matches will be due July 13th.

  5. I'm gonna do this just because and it's gonna be amazing.

  6. I'll tag people starting around the beginning of June. I'm thinking we'll have a bigger group playing than people will give a sports game on this forum credit for.

Also, I wanted to mention I will post my own score predictions in the thread before each deadline, so there's no chance I'm called out for cheating. (Also I kind of know something about International football seeing as I follow/rank every match down to friendlies year-round -- so it'll be a chance to get some hints for those who don't follow international football as much or at all)

  9. Any word about another Shakira World Cup anthem?

  10. I love the fact the us not being in it is less of a shock worldwide than Netherlands, Italy, Chile, Ivory Coast, and Ghana. So we're kind of going under the radar internationally. But losing to Trinidad and freakin' Tobago on the last qualifying day still hurts my soul.

  11. WaiT, USA is also not here?! I really need to be informed. Please tell me Iceland is here.

  12. Seeing Portugal win the EuroCup from afar was so bittersweet, but I will treasure that moment forever because I know we will never win anything ever again teehee

  14. Iceland is here but at least four of their top players from the last two major qualifying runs and EURO 16 are going to be questionable due to injuries including leading man Gylfi Siggurdson. I don't have high hopes in a group with Argentina, Croatia, and Nigeria who are never pushovers.

They'll have to beat Nigeria minimum and build a wall in front of the goal, praying for a draw versus the two juggernauts.

  15. But if they manage to pull through in that pool of dead, the more iconic they will become. So, yes team #Iceland.

  17. The real group of death is Group F. The defending champions weren't done any favors by getting Mexico, Sweden, and South Korea.

Also Group H is literally a toss-up among all four teams.

Group B looks elementary, but Iran and Morocco are both stronger than their names might indicate. I wouldn't be shocked at all if either of them challenge for the knockout rounds.

  18. Ugh I have my final exams until mid June so I might miss some of the matches but will definitely do this since it takes little to no time.

The death group imo is B 'cause I'm biased.

  20. Winning the Eurocup and Eurovision back to back though, not everyone has that.
