I'm also far past the point of just joking around. I'm not that serious! I could not be less mad about a Grammy.
She doesn't have a single album that had any real cultural impact (other than maybe 1989) or significant memorability. In 10 years no artist will be referencing her. I mean, is anyone even referencing her now? There's nothing of substance to reference. She skates by on straight white blonde mediocrity that appeals to the same people that voted for Jill Stein.
She's the Shreddies of music - inoffensive, everyone can stomach it (except us gluten girlies), there's no flavor, and no one wants to try and recreate it. It succeeds because it's plain, edible, and doesn't push any buttons.
Except for the fact I'm not an unhinged idiot married to a pedophile!!!! I just don't love Taylor!Nicki Minaj's twitter this past week <3
Lana, and Billie, are some of the only culturally-significant pop-centric artists to debut in the last decade. No one else will have the legacy they have earned. Dua is close.
Then they did the exact same thing to Ariana! I demand songbird RIGHTS!There certainly is a vindictive spirit in some of the Recording Academy's behaviour. Of course, as a lamb, I have to reference 1996 when Mariah had her biggest year ever and they nominated her for 6 awards, made her perform, and then she lost every award, with them panning to her to further twist the knife any chance they get.
Until the new single drops after she appears at the Superbowl and everyone forgets.Twitter is also going in on her about not acknowledging Celine. I fear the tides are turning ddd.
Ok but one could argue Dua has perpetuated certain sounds in the industry becoming mainstream. All for people not having to like Taylor, or not thinking the win was deserved... but this Dua sneak. Arguing that she's a more culturally significant pop artist than Taylor is absolutely unhinged. Nurse! She's out again!
