A.C.E makes the KPB pages once again for its second edition, this time with... a more tolerable song than last year's Goblin (Favorite Boys). I'm sorry, but I'm really struggling to know what to write here, this song just doesn't stand out to me in any way whatsoever, positive or negative. The way you're all stuck with this lacking host who often doesn't have the vocabulary he thinks he possesses to do a rate of this scale! But I came up with the idea so I get to do it <3
Let me try though: to me, the production is so extremely K-Pop™... but not in a good way. It's a roundabout way of saying I think it's very generic and lacking personality. It's loud and messy but at the same time kinda limp, I don't feel like this chorus quite does what it's trying to do. @Inland Empire's (10) commentary helps me a little: “This has such a wonderful mid-2010s K-Pop feel to it." I think this is why I don't like it? It's a bit old fashioned but not enough to be retro! We're doing 2nd Gen revival right now! She continues: "I could totally see GOT7 on this if they had stayed together.”

@boombazookajoe (6) gave it the same score as me and has a similar opinion: “It has moments that I really enjoy...but it doesn't really have an idenity of it's own. The verse sets a nice mood but I don't like the way the song switches in the chorus.” @bbynewyear (5) joins us: “Thought this was A.C.E's 'Take Me Higher' and then I pressed play... hate that for me. I wanna support these boys but nothing they've released since that track has beat it. As for the track itself, it starts in very generic place and doesn't seem to get past it." Let's bookend the commentary section with another positive one: @eatyourself (8,5) says “This new jack swing vibe is everything! The reverb throughout also adds drama.”
One thing I *do* always enjoy with A.C.E is that they are going to give you preTTy. These guys are always up in some sparkly, bedazzled, long haired drags AND it goes further than that: they are one of the few K-Pop groups that have openly shown support for the LGBTQ+ community, and even released an OST for BL drama "Light On Me". Jun said of the release: “Just like how all of our fans, CHOICE, are different in their own special ways, we know that there are a range of different ways to love among all kinds of people in this world which we acknowledge and respect.” King!!! Unfortunately, he had to enlist earlier this year, and will be followed soon by Byeongkwan. Please come back safely for @Sanctuary unnie's sake ♡
And by the way... THAT's how you debut a boy group!

What a concept.
I really wish this group leaned on more to the “camp” aspect of their debut and focused on members that delivered on them. ACE members Byeongkwan and Jun seemed to get the memo and did as much baiting as they could. They would have been worthy successors to Wonho’s legacy.
The shorts era was insane and they all really do have amazing thighs (WOW especially*) but YES their bright concepts are generally just a much much better fit for them. They do chill and natural really effortlessly and I wish they just made that their thing.

It’s a shame GOT7 are not doing more to show that they are indeed still intact. I know they are on a break to do solo activities but the Korean general public basically think they have disbanded and the only people who are eating up their solo musical output is every other nation but S. Korea!
