I’m not ashamed to say I was excited to hear Minho use his limited range on a solo. I still wouldn’t mind a mini from him, but I think he cares way more about being an actor than a solo artist.

Not a MisandryJustice bonus again ddd Which is funny, because two of the lowest scorers actually raised their score here compared to KSOTY??? I mean, it's a very small difference, but still, Lose is now officially in the same club as libidO and Criminal.

I have to start by admitting, this song did lose a bit of its shine for me after a while. I still think the production and hooks are absolutely top tier, but his vocal performance in the chorus started to wear thin. Like, he does not have the range to go this high, so why not make the whole thing a key lower or two? @Slice of Life (7) comments on this: “Stop whispering to me juseyo!!!!!! Such a waste of great production”​

The throbbing (ff) production really is great, I like the stabs of violin for added drama. @Salami (3) doesn't seem to agree: “It sounds cheap. I don’t remember the circumstances of this coming out but it definitely sounds like “quickly get a song out while he’s making news”. If you asked me to say what his first song was going to sound like, I’d say this.”

#1 Wenee @boombazookajoe (10) says: “I know this forum likes to oscillate between thirsting after Wonho and making fun of him, but truth be told, he has released some of the most iron clad, solid as hell title tracks (except Blue) from a male soloist in the last couple years. While he's a smiley dork in real life, he definitely benefits more from a darker, sexier concept (look at the course correction of Eye On you!) and this is perhaps his moodiest, sleekest track of all. The string addition in the last chorus makes the whole thing feel so luxe and expensive. Plus? JFC he is hot in this video.” I feel like the MV is even more essential than usual here. No, not because he's a wet marble sculpture in it, but I just think it's very well shot and well edited to the beat, and has interesting imagery (the mechanical beating heart, the giant film tape falling from the sky, etc).

@eccentricsimply (2) is puzzled: “I simply just do not see what everybody else sees on this guy ddddd like... he's not a good enough singer to make me interested and sure I stan other struggle vocals, but it's harder when it's only one person. I also don't think the song is a big deal.” *Robyn voice* it is really very simple... he has good, catchy songs that stand out from other groups and soloists in sonic palette, and it's a synth/dance sound that is very PJ friendly!

No but seriously, are you really telling me there are forty songs in this rate better than Lose? To be honest it just seems like another example of "rating the artist, not the song", because if it had been released by like Kai or something (definitely would have fit his 2020 mini) I bet it would have made the top 10.

Yes, the whisper chanteuse himself would have sounded much better on 'Lose' and taken it where it should've gone—that much is true. Wonho somehow can barely hold a whimper much less a note, it would be remiss to deny that this song made it as far as it did because it came out of that body. So... what now?

It has one of the weakest chorusus in the entire rate. I'd say it would have been eliminated a lot sooner if it was sung by some nugu soloist and not someone who has this body:



Yeah I think Wonho's music is largely mediocre and think some of y'all allow him passes simply for his body!

Sis let's not act like vocal ability is a huge factor now, when the upper reaches of the rate are going to be filled with TXT and Enhypen songs. The way the conversation always turns into his looks kinda just proves my point about people rating the artist rather than the song. I think Lose is a great song, and it would have been great regardless of who released it. And yes, I'm pretty certain it would have done quite a lot better had it been released by a respected artist like, for example Kai, or even just a random nugu, rather than by someone who is perceived as a talentless himbo who people only care about because of his looks.

Nn I genuinely enjoy his music and it has very little to do with his looks. Of course I enjoy his Instagram account but overly muscled guys are like… the opposite of what I like so… yeah.

It's also funny to read that kind of stuff when most male idols are hot anyway and would get the same reaction if they marketed themselves the way Wonho does.

Let’s be real, we all drag bad vocals until it’s a group or artist we love and then quietly ignore it or make excuses for them, and that’s okay!

Wonho is not a capital S Singer, we know this — but I do genuinely enjoy his tone and if I only enjoyed him because of his body than I wouldn’t listen to his songs without watching the accompanying videos. I genuinely think the song slaps, as I feel about a lot of his songs (again, that aren’t Blue.) He’s a talented performer, he has a hand in all the song writing (which I really respect), he’s a charming goofball, and he’s hot as hell. Sounds like a win all around to me. Is he extra adored because of how beautiful he is? Sure. But I’m a filthy homosexual and I won’t apologize for that!

Wonho is quite celebrated on this forum and his thread as a solo male artist receives consistent engagement, numbering more pages than most acts on here. You thinking this did worse than it should have because of some imagined vendetta against him is actually wild. The insinuation that people are deliberately tanking him, because...? Because he has a hot body? The perception that other people find him hot? I don't even know how to respond. Like I am thoroughly discombobulated. I am at a loss.
