Two songs would have tied for 3rd place based on average score alone...
...however, one of them received
three 11s,
while the other only received
two,
knocking it down to 4th place.
Given a lot of the economy class girls didn't participate in the boys rate there's still a chance it might win that too

History repeats itself and a SHINee solo single fails to make the KPB Top 3 despite an overwhelmingly positive reception on the subforum. Goes to show that even when you do everything right, sometimes it's just not enough?
And miss Key certainly
did everything right! From the very first visual teasers for the album after countless delays, we knew he wasn't coming to play. Everything showed a very clear artists vision and a willingness to serve Big Pop Girl realness. That lo-fi space fiction aesthetic was fully realized in both the icy, blinding synth-fest that is this song, as well as the music video and even lyrics in
b-side tracks.
@boombazookajoe (10) once again comments on all the same things I wanted to mention in my write-up, but I swear I didn't read it before writing ffff:
“Best male K-Pop album of 2021. That gorgeous stripped down pre-chorus into the explosive chorus is how MUSIC IS WRITTEN. Everything about this whole era was iconic. The looks, the art direction, this song, the B-Sides, the live performances, his Showterview with Jessi, everything. He really is one of the funniest and most likable idols...ever? Anyway, insert the "I listen to SINGERS. I rarely listen to people who can't SING" gif here.” Yes, his vocal performance is certainly a slay. With that said, I have to admit this song was kinda the opposite of a grower for me... call me crazy, but I don't think the chorus works that well? I don't know, it seems a bit rushed with different tracks coming on top of each other fighting for attention. It's the weakest part in a very strong song for me, which is why this didn't get a higher score.
@lalaclairi_ (11) also compliments the overall art direction for the era:
“Bad Love was easily my favorite comeback last year. I have all 4 versions of the album, and they’re the most striking CDs I own. Key really stuck to his vision this time around which I will always appreciate.” Speaking of versions, he even had the album
on vinyl, which is something I wish more K-Pop groups did, my faves could have bled me dry by now. I'm sorry but I hate buying all these different sized photobook albums!!
