A*Teens (2024 Reunion) + General Discussion

I don't have much knowledge about music, but my ears never heard A*Teens singing in harmony. Did they ever do that? They were bigger (and maybe considered cooler) than Steps for example, but even in their lipsync day, they have many songs that show there are more than one girl and one boy singing on chorus.

Yeah the Vengaboys actually had hits and sold albums all over the world and still opened for Steps.
Yeah and they were already a touring force/didn't exactly need to reintroduce themselves so.. I guess Steps' team just paid them well?

Finally had time to watch this and it honestly made me surprisingly emotional. I never expected a reunion performance like this to be so good, especially after nearly 2 decades apart. The new vocals (prerecorded or not), the costumes, the choreography, the dancers, the lighting, the song choices… I don’t have a single note to give. My jaw dropped, my eyes got teary, and I was instantly reminded why they were one of my favorite pop groups as a teen. They looked like the same proper pop act they once were, the same ones I saw perform live multiple times and who I stood outside a Virgin Records for 5 hours to meet. Nostalgia act reunions always make me nervous/cringe, but this is exactly how it should be done. They clearly can still perform, have some great people around them, and a bulletproof discography. Get them on some stages and literally take all of my money. I still struggle to garner much excitement over ABBA, but A*Teens remain firmly planted in my heart.

I've just watched the performance and have been crying all the time. Amazing performance!

At the end of the day, just like Vengaboys, A*Teens wouldn't sell out arenas in the UK on their own, so it's either very small venues, support Steps or similar, or not bother.
Exactly - I don't see why people are scoffing at the idea of them supporting an act that fits musically in a country where, frankly, they didn't do very well. But people here are weird about Steps anyway.
