I'm shocked they haven't flogged a b-sides & rarities album yet. Tracks like 'I Am The City', 'Should I Laugh Or Cry', 'Elaine', 'Lovelight' etc.
Listening to all their work it is surprising at times how the albums are so badly sequenced. Especially Arrival and Voulez-Vous. Anyway, a new rank for 2025 -
Super Trouper
The Album
Arrival
ABBA
Voulez-Vous
The Visitors
Voyage
Ring Ring
Waterloo
There’s never been a rarities disc on its own but they’re included on so many boxsets and compilations now, it would be a bit of a redundant set. The 40th Anniversary Gold came with a 3rd disc of just b-sides. Maybe RSD
exclusive would be good?
I get why people dislike it, but I really love the Waterloo album. My Mama Said, Dance (etc), Hasta Manana, What About Livingston, Gonna Sing You My Love Song are all gems. I even really enjoy Sitting In The Palmtree and Watch Out.
On the flip side, Super Trouper is an album I very rarely listen to in full. It’s….
fine. I’ve always found it far less exciting than Voulez-Vous.
