Finished Abbott Elementary and I loved it, such a strong cast and a brilliant mix of comedy and emotion. Seeing Janine get her teacher voice where even Barbara sat down? Amazing.
Disney+ recommended Single Parents to me and a few episodes in and I am really liking this one. Leighton Meester is an icon who made my childhood crush (and Birthday sharer) Adam Brody a literal Daddy so I can't help but stan.

It was ambitious, I'll give it that, but it didn't really work as a whole for me. Interesting to see what they do with the second season.

I'm also still not sold on Tiffany Haddish as an actress.
Oh, I thought it was a limited series. Good to know!

Anyone keeping up with The Old Man on Hulu/FX? The flashback scenes are kind of rough and the writing can be a little spotty, but I stan Amy Brenneman and she never fails to elevate anything she’s in. Jeff Bridges is also great, of course.

OK this looks lit, I'm so excited. I haven't seen or know anything about the Belgian one, but anything that queen Sharon is involved with is worth a watch.

“Lit” being an appropriate choice of words here - but who’s spoiling?

The original series also aired in the UK a couple of years ago and was renamed The Out-Laws:

I’m guessing that’s when it caught Sharon’s attention? It’s the kind of wickedly dark humour that seems right up her street.

It had the entire (Flemish part of our) country in its grip for 12 consecutive weeks, it was just so good - and such a breath of fresh air after years and years of rote police dramas led mostly by men.

I may be alone in stanning this series but the first two episodes of season 2 of The Capture are available on iPlayer (season 1 is available to stream in its entirety) -

Perched for more shots of Holliday Grainger and her long green trench coat strutting dramatically to… well… anywhere and everywhere.

I temporarily cancelled my Netflix a month or so ago because there's nothing on there I really want to watch and have been relying on iPlayer. There are some great series on there.

I have 2 episodes left off Red Rose which is a teen horror from the producers of Sex Education and it's excellent. Highly recommend for horror fans.

I've just watched the first three episodes of Julia (it's on Neon here in NZ, but I think it's an HBO show). It's an absolute delight, so charming and feel good. I hope the rest of the season continues this way.

I spent this week watching Loot on AppleTV and I genuinely loved it. So many of the reviews were so tepid but it was a charming, fun workplace comedy with a lot of heart. I’m invested in all the characters.

Also, I loved seeing Queen Michaela Jae in a lighter comedic role, she was great as usual.

Happy it’s been renewed for a second season, I think it found its stride by the end of the first season and can knock season 2 out of the park.

Has anyone else watching Wedding Season on Disney+? I’m on episode 7 (of 8) and it’s been decent. More comedy than murder mystery than I expected but an easy watch.

This looks good! Netflix has apparently gotten the international streaming rights to this so i hope it debuts soon.

For those interested, if you have Apple TV+ here in the UK, you can watch some of the episodes of Starz Play (now known as Lionsgate+) stuff for free. I’ve already added P-Valley and Gaslit to my list!
