Also it should be mentioned that some of Bruce's recent albums have been among the most acclaimed of his career. Western Stars and Madame X occupying the top two spots on both the UK and US charts in their release week, with a strong critical reception, was a great moment - he and Madonna demonstrated that being an older "legacy" act and continuing to grow and challenge yourself as an artist are not mutually exclusive.
The thought of Adele being in a similar position 30 years down the line is an attractive prospect, but can she be bothered?

Nah, Vegas makes sense for her; crowd-pleaser for the tourists, she hates touring and traveling around as it is, plus she lives in LA now and with a son in school its so much easier for her to just hop on a jet to Vegas for the weekends and then head out, rather than taking her son on the road with her/being away from him for long stretches of time, etc.
I definitely don't think she can. During one interview for 30 she said, "I don't want to do this forever and I don't think people want me to do this forever". I was never sure if by "people" she meant fans - which is strange enough as it is, who would be a fan of somebody and not want them to make music - but the statement is a pretty big tell that her heart is not completely in music. At least in terms of making and releasing albums.
See id say she enjoys the creative making music process, it’s the releasing, promoting and touring aspect (as well as the obvious celebrity part of it) that she’s not passionate about
Yeah, I agree. Sorry, that probably wasn't clear in my original post. I meant making albums as in doing it towards putting together a body of work as opposed to just a random song here and there. It's definitely the promo slog that she doesn't like. She's clearly removed touring from her life now, so it wouldn't even surprise me if one day she got to the point where she released music without even doing any promo/interviews at all.
I guess it depends on the chair.
Ι can see her going the Bey way of dropping albums with very selective magazine covers and appearances as the promo.

This isn't a judgement on her at all, but I do think its sort of amusing that she has often insinuated that she really hates the celebrity aspect of her life and how fame is really hard for her... and yet over the last several years she moved to Beverly Hills, bought a second mansion in Coldwater Canyon for her ex husband to live in, hangs out with Jennifer Lawrence, Nicole Richie, and Cameron Diaz, and is dating a big time sports agent. She's pretty entrenched in the life of a celebrity. She's not who she was when Chasing Pavements came out. And how could she be? It's just interesting to see her seemingly privately embrace her celebrity and publicly still seems to think she needs to act like it's an inconvenience to her.
