Re: Alesha - "The Alesha Show" album - November 17th

I was immediately humming the "Does he Wash up..." part after the clip finished.
It's a hit. I like it.

Alesha doing Mambo #5 would be fantastic...if it sounds a bit like that then I'm looking forward to it!

Cute song! This sounds like something you could swing dance too. Get your snoods out.

Darren Hayes also wrote a song for this album I think.

I think the clip is 'quite good'.

And Alesha has clearly met my old flatmate, if the lyrics is anything to go by.

THE VIDEO HAS GOT FIFTY DANCERS IN IT.

Knockdown had a lot too.

It had no more than 15 dancers. And this video has a budget more than double what Knockdown had. Exciting!

Darren Hayes said this in August 2008 on his myspace blog:

"I've been working all night and day and night and day with Rick Nowels on songs for Alesha Dixon, who is lovely. But stupidly, I thought that writing for and with someone else would involve me just putting in half the effort I normally do. Nope. It's the same amount of work only in a different key. Anyway, I've only got one or two more days work here and then we might end up doing some more work back in England."

"I'm so glad to be home but I have to say I loved my time working with Rick and Alesha."

"The final day poor Alesha had to sing two songs back to back (and they were difficult ones too). But she worked like a trooper and by the time I got back to my hotel I was wrecked!"

Chart predicitions based on the 1 minute snippet?

With the right amount of promotion, it could got to #4.
I have the feeling it might even break the Top 3.

I have a very good feeling about this.

"I got a man with two left feet"

LOVE IT! Possibly because my expectations were in the gutter after scandipop's dissapointment with it.

Re: Alesha - "The Alesha Show" album - November 17th

I'm predicting number 9 for the simple fact that if Lipstick can get to number 14 then this can achieve more. She will get way better promo this time round, she has a bigger fanbase and more people know who she is and more to the point ... this song is way better.

Despite my high hopes I have a feeling it won't peak higher because of the competition around.

I actually spontaneously pouted when the one minute snippet ended.

I don't think Alesha is a good enough pop star. I haven't played the sample yet but she's just so bland... she's got those 'dead eyes' that Rachel Stevens had... there's no magic, she's just your average run of the mill ex girl band member having a(nother) crack at the solo thing.

Darren Hayes + Alesha = Random. But I'm interested.

Lilke the sound of the song too...

As much as I respect the fact you're entitled to your opinion, maybe you should actually listen to the track and then pass opinion on whether she is good enough. As for dead eyes? Not from what I've seen - have you ever seen her with a frown. She's got 'happy' wide bright eyes :)
