Alison Goldfrapp - General Discussion

Just seen Alison being interviewed on Jools Holland. She clearly hates being interviewed. Almost uncomfortable to watch. I am amazed artists that are brilliant outgoing performers with a great back catalogue of music - but struggle with one on one interviews. Obviously the two performances are amazing.

I dunno, I thought she came across as level-headed, soft-spoken, and nonchalant in a charmingly confident way. I thought it was fine! She's always had that energy in interviews.

Not saying this like it’s an “improvement”, I always loved her personality, but she’s much, much warmer and sweeter these days, it’s funny to see. Her ice queen days are gone!

So what was going on with the Glastonbury set? I can see why people are suspecting it’s mimed but I think it’s partly overlayed vocals with (a lower than usual) live vocal. I don’t think for a second she’d want to mime a full performance. Also the album toys with vocal trickery so maybe the distorted angle was intentional.
