All Important Single Edits On CD

I have to ask, is it the single edit of Ryan Paris on this CD set from 2008?

I have three versions of this, and I don't think any are the actual 7" mix from 1983!

100 Hits: 80s Rewind - 3.36 (sounds like a later remix)
Summy Summer Top 100: 3.55
Superhits of the 80s (4CD): 3.20

Hard to nail down the 7" time, but an EU vinyl 7" from 1983 has a timing of about 4.08.

Eric. the French and German 45s of Dolce Vita have a printed label time of 3.59. I timed my UK pressing (no time on the label) at 4.00.

The key issue is the ending, as 3.53ish versions are on a few CDs I think. They have an instrumental section at the end and end cold.

On the UK 45, there's an Instrumental bridge from 2.55 to 3.11, then it's vocal all the way with a fade at the end. Vocal starts again at 3.11 with the words "we're living life in the dolce vita".

Looks interesting, it's not uncommon for those very early CDs to have the correct versions on them.
But there's no guarantee of course....

I think the UK has a specail single remix of Kid Creole Stool Pigeon that runs about 3 minutes 22 which I have never found on CD yet. Hopefully one day

I Just got around to playing this CD and it is the correct version of Dolce Vita. It was only 7 Euro on Amazon.

Dolce Vita on the new NOW Yearbook is the UK Single Mix but once again slightly edited at 3 52 with the instrumental break as mentioned above by Stecov coming in at 2 53 through 3 09.

Has anyone purchased this recent Sony 80s compilation? I've not been able to find out if Hooked On Classics is the elusive 45 version as yet.

That NOW 1983 also has the proper single versions of Pale Shelter from TFF and Public Image This Is Not A Love Song which had at times been quite hard to find.

As there are two times listed on Discogs .
There is a Full length version at 5:55 and another version at 2:58.

If you mean the original 1979 release, it's likely that commercial copies were all the long version.
There's a note on Discogs that the short version is "probably" a promo edit sent to radio stations.
That seems a logical conclusion to me. My original 45 is the long version.

But not the single versions of 2 of his biggest hits, I Don't Wanna Dance and Electric Avenue, unfortunately.
The 45 edit of Electric Avenue has never been on CD (that I know of).
