All Important Single Edits On CD

The version of In The Name Of Love ‘88 (ver Twins) is 4.26 which doesn’t correspond with anything I had logged,I think it’s an early fade of one of the longer remixes but I would have to get my 12” out. Odd though.

Strange. Yes, none of the mixes on the CD single match this. A radio version/edit and two longer remixes.

Do any of you guys know what the differences are between the US & UK 7'' (re-release) mixes of Cathy Dennis' ''Just Another Dream''?

The UK has a slightly earlier fade, about 7 seconds.

Tricky to tell without listening, as there is a 1982 original version and a 1983 remix. The 1983 release came in two edits....a DJ edit (3.35) and a Commercial 7" mix (4.00). The 101 Disco Classics mix runs to 3.51 if Allmusic is correct, so it could be a very slightly early fade of the Commercial mix.

I've played both quite a bit (according to iTunes) but I'd have to check to be sure what the differences are, beyond just an edit of the intro.

I remember thinking Neutron Dance was milking Breakout a bit much but then they carried on with Baby come and get it! I always wished Nightline had been a single (and it shouldn't have been shoved off to allow I'm so excited to take it's place).

Neutron Dance tied in with the Beverly Hills Cop movie arriving in the UK, and the soundtrack getting issued, so it had more promo/reason to exist than most 5th singles from a year-old album. 6 singles was pushing it though, I agree....the public were sick of them by the summer, when new material came along!

I haven't been able to find the right 7" mix of that on CD either.

There are a few other cds that match the single version of 3:55 but I'm not sure to take a gamble on them.

Are the 1978 and 1985 versions of Now That We've Found Love different? I've no idea really if I have the correct version of either, as I didn't know there were mix issues.

There's a poor quality version on YouTube of a 45 remix from 1985, I've never found a copy of this anywhere.
The Paul Hardcastle 85 remix is on CD.

I see some CDs have a single length version that starts with a drum beat at full volume, so clearly wrong.
Both 78 and 85 versions fade in. Whether there are mix differences between the 2 years, I can't really tell.

I have a version that fades in and is close to 3.51 on Reader's Digest Sounds Of The Seventies 1978.
Vocal starts at 0.20, which is a couple of seconds earlier than on the 1978 45. Pretty much matches a copy of the 85 45 on YouTube, though the very start of the fade-in could be missing here I guess.

Likely scenario is that this version fades in a little late and misses a couple of seconds at the very start?

This is probably the best CD copy I have. Fades in, vocals start at 0.21 and plays very close to 3.53.

Does anyone know if the correct single version of The Rah Band Clouds Across The Moon is on cd.Most cds have an edit of the Album version but the single versions Intro is different.
