The US 45 is 3.43, which is on some CDs.

There goes my educated guess! I've normally found the NOW edits to be unique, but obviously not always.

I'm sort of the opposite! I didn't like it much in '84/'85, it was overplayed to death on R1, but when I hear it on 80s soul comps or whatever now, I think wow that is a seriously well-structured and performed track.

Is there an edit of "A Bang On The Ear" by The Waterboys available on CD or digitally? The 7.25-7.30 album version seems to be used on compilations (as far as discogs can tell me).

The only edit I can find is a 6:45 edit on this U.S. Promo cd single.

Thanks! Not really enough of an edit to make much difference to my playlists. Funny how they went with the full version pretty much everywhere. By contrast, another mega long track I needed an edit of - Brother Of Mine by Anderson Bruford Wakeman & Howe - comes in two different short edits on the reissued CD.

Grover Washington Jr (featuring Bill Withers) Just The Two Of Us is on cd. A few cds don't match that length.

No, the single edit worldwide was the 3:40 edit, in the US also. But on many CD's they put the 3:59 version. I wonder why...

Not sure where this info comes from? The UK 45 was 3.58. This guy's YouTube uploads always play way too fast, but even after disregarding his introduction, you can tell it's well in excess of 3.40,

But, on the label there's only the word "edit". On th US and on the Dutch release you can read definitely 3:40.

It's not unusual at all for overseas pressings to differ from the UK. The US in particular is frequently a variation. It's quite possible the UK was the only country to have the longer version as its 45.

Were any of the vinyl edits (4:04 on the 12" and 4:48 on the 7") of Phil Collins' Another Day in Paradise released on CD?

Edit: I found the 7" version on Now 1989 - Millennium Series.
