All Important Single Edits On CD

Edit: I found the 7" version on Now 1989 - Millennium Series.

Oh, it's on the 10th Anniversary fatbox Now 1989 too....how did I miss adding that to my iTunes. I put the discs of every one of those in and compared the running times...must have just overlooked it!

Does anyone know if track 1 on this CD (the single remix of "Deadbeat Club" by The B-52's) was ever released commercially on CD? Unlike "Love Shack" and "Roam," "Deadbeat Club" was only released on cassette and 7" and they didn't include the mix on the 2019 reissue of Cosmic Thing.

Another single edit which could be mislabelled on the record is Billy Griffin's Hold Me Tighter In The Rain. The record is labeled at 3:40 but this YouTube clip plays it more to 3:57 which is on most cds.

The version I have (US release) seems to be identical to the album version, including in length (4:54 verses either edit version). But I know there were a million different versions of that compilation depending on country, so they may have used different mixes as well.

On which release? Can't find it on Discogs. They all feature the 4:54 version.

I've got 3.54 logged for it, so pretty much in line with your findings.

It seems to be on this year's 3CD set. There's a note that the track durations are taken from a CD player.

Having said that, there is a 3.43 mix on the Sire Records Story box set. Same running time as the US 7".

I don't think Chaka is on CD. This Is My Night 45 edit came out recently on her Japanese Singles Collection CD, but Eye To Eye wasn't released as a single in Japan.

I'm not aware of a CD for Tender Love either. My copy of the 45 version is marked as edited from CD.

Little chance of that I fear. Japanese releases tend to be quite limited, and sell out first. Out of print Japanese CDs tend to cost the earth. They've always been expensive (compared to UK/US releases).
