All Important Single Edits On CD

Version of Chi Mai on Private Stock records from 1978 is now available digitally running 3 29 which is the same as it's 1978 7" single whereas the BBC version runs a couple of seconds shorter so I think 3 29 is the proper single edit for the track.
I had a logged time of 3.30 for this, coming (I believe) from a European 45 label. However I've amended this to 3.27 after more investigation.

There's a UK BBC 1981 45 on YouTube plays 3.27, which exactly matches the BBC TV Themes CD I referenced earlier.

10 seconds from the start of the final note (3.17) and the audible end of the fade out.

Does anybody have Choose 80s Dance CD?
https://www.discogs.com/release/878554-Various-Choose-80s-Dance

I see Steve Walsh's I Found Lovin' is timed at 3.44 which is about 14 seconds longer than the 7"
But an Amazon reviewer states "I found lovin'" fades out well before it used to when it was played on the radio - it might have been better to cut out one or two of the songs to fit in the proper single-length versions." - which doesn't make sense.

I see it's also on another Telstar comp from the same year - The Ultimate Cheeky Party Album - which has 25 tracks per disc. Am presuming it's the same version?

Any info appreciated. Thanks.

I have that CD, yes. Let me check.

The version on my copy runs to 3.38 which is kind of inbetween the listed 7" time and the 3.44 credited (wrongly?) on discogs.

Thought I had more than one copy of this track , for some reason I had the idea it was on Greatest Hits of 1987 but it's not. I also thought the Choose 80s comp was the one with a similarly curtailed "Superstar" by Lydia Murdock but again I misremembered. But it does have the US edit of Mama Used To Say rather than the UK one.

There's a video and a TOTP appearance on YouTube that seem to match the actual 45.

MusicBrainz lists both Choose 80s Dance and The Chart Show Dance Hits 87 as 3.44 and says 4.14 for The Ultimate Cheeky Party Album. Apart from long versions or tracks which form part of a mix, that seems to be it.

I had this cd a few years ago and as far as I can remember I Found Lovin' is an edit of the 12 inch mix.
Maybe Eric could confirm this?

The edit of Goodnight Saigon is on the new Japanese singles collection, along with several other new-to-CD/rare 7” versions. Not the edit of You’re only human sadly.
Not quite from a UK point of view, though it seems to match the time on the Japanese 45 which would make it longer than either the UK or US 45s. It's definitely a few seconds longer than the UK 45, you get more of the helicopter intro before the music starts. I can't find the sample at CDJapan any more, but I think the music starts around 17 seconds in, not 10 as on the UK 45. The actual song is not edited at all, just the intro and outro sound effects.
