Her man is Brazilian, which I imagine is why she’s toured there and occasionally posts videos of her speaking Portuguese as well.
Not that we’re hurting for alternate versions of Galina now but didn’t she originally tease the melody of the song while singing something in Portuguese on her story?
Oh ok, that makes sense. My man is el salvadorian so maybe I should take a page out of her book at start making latin bops.
She also has, like, a trace of fan base in Brazil, so it makes sense to court them now and then dd. Last time I saw her, I wasn't able to buy any merch/vinyl she brought because it was literally sold out just from the VIP/Early Entry.
Bon Voyage is cute, but very "bonus track" so I'm glad it's part of the deluxe. I always imagined she didn't have tons of outtakes from this project, and for some random reason I believe the earliest material from these sessions were much more Cape God adjacent before she found the right lane.

Still available for me and it is absolutely stunning but at £61.38 including postage. No ma'am.
I love John and Jonathan. The weakest song is Hardware Software.
So pleased there is only one new track, therefore I have no need for the deluxe vinyl. Bloody adore the album though. One of the best this year.
I love all the songs. I really think this is her best album and Bon Voyage is a welcome addition. Hardware Software is the only weak spot for me but it works as a short interlude.
This is one of my favorite albums of the year, and as much as I feel tempted by that deluxe vinyl, only the standard version feels truly essential, so I’ll probably pass. If the deluxe was packed with new songs I’d probably pull the trigger, but I have no need for 5-6 remixes on vinyl.
And yeah, John and Jonathan is great. The funniest part is how the gay couple the song is (very loosely) based off of did interviews about being the inspiration for an Allie X album track and described themselves as “prominent figures in their industries” or whatever dd. Gays will be gays!
