I just got a navy, gold & white patterened rug so I'm thinking of getting pillows along those colors. I need anIkea or Target trip. And money.

I have a world map I want to put up but its really oddly shaped (23x41) so I'll have to get a bigger frame and put backing in it I suppose. I also want to frame my Charli XCX autographed pic but that too is a weird size. I love having it out so everyone can ask me who she is.

  2. I would love to see their faces when you tell your friends she wrote 'I Love It'!

I wish I had popstars signatures.

I do love that Eurythmics poster, it's beautiful! I'd love to put that up and I don't really listen to them.

I have Charli and Kylie on display. The Kylie signature was a gift from my friends on my birthday, I really hope it isn't fake. It has a certificate! I used to have Megan Hauserman and Brandi C of Rock of Love fame, but my ex took that in the 'divorce' without my knowledge. I'm still bitter.

  4. I love the idea of redoing everything from scratch but I just know I'd end up convincing myself that minimalist is the way forward and I'd have a white box with a single stool.

    - basically.

These are the colours that I want for my first house, when that should happen. They'll be stylized and motifed into different tones and shades around the entire house, and be made into a running theme.

My house would also include a lot of plants to represent the ever currant presence of life and growing.

And I'd decorate the house with hundreds of pictures I've taken over the years. 6x4" frames, all black, or silver. No gold.

No carpets either. Lots of rugs.

In eight months I'll be decorating my own flat in Glasgow, and this thread will be so much valuable to me. It's so weird!

  7. I have no idea how I'm supposed to go from 40 square meters to 27 in my new place, but I'll just have to make it work.

Manila I love those colors! but make sure the green is more of an accent or you'll feel like you're back in the 1970s! Unless you want that of course haha.

Kamikaze I know how that goes. My first apartment in the city was a three bedroom duplex and I moved to a studio! It's all about storage, storage and storage! The more clutter you can hide the roomier it will feel.

I live on 15, girl! You'll manage. Granted, I have to literally throw shit (like clothes or whatever) away every year because it doesn't fit in my tiny closet any more, but still.

  11. I like the sofa. I think how you decorate really depends on what space you're working with so it's hard to advise without seeing. I follow Lone Fox on Youtube and pretty much redecorated my whole apartment last summer from following his videos and watching his apartment/room refreshes. All my furniture is a mix of more expensive, one off pieces from TK Maxx or charity shops (found a beautiful 60s teak and gold dressing table for £20 the other day) I guess I just wanted my apartment to look like Urban Outfitters meets Anthropologie which is kind of basic but whatever ddd.

  12. I'm not sure how under-the-radar they are, but some sites I like are:

    https://www.maisonsdumonde.com/
    https://www.trouva.com/
    https://www.made.com/
    https://www.grahamandgreen.co.uk/

Where are you based? The US? I know the first two definitely deliver to the US. The last two, I'm less sure of. Graham and Green, in particular, is a UK-based company, so may not deliver internationally.

All of the sites have gorgeous products and imagery, though, so at the very least they may serve as a source of inspiration. Check out their blogs or request a catalogue.

Thinking outside the box, trade show websites can be a good place for new and unique finds. Homeware buyers frequent these shows, so the best ones should have lots of lovely stuff. Here are a few:

  13. https://doorsixteen.com/ was a major source of inspiration when I was decorating and furnishing my place.

The woman who runs the blog has an eye for identifying the nicest items from IKEA and mixing them with (much more expensive) vintage/design pieces. I think she actually ended up being sponsored by IKEA. She seems to have slowed down on the postings though - maybe she has run out of rooms to redecorate.

    Some examples:
