I got my bestie a HomePod mini for her birthday last year and just now taught her how to get Siri to give her a daily update. She's a NPR girlie so she's a bit shook

My Apple Watch has died. I’ve had it just over two years and now the screen is black but everything works I just can’t see it. I haven’t dropped it or bumped it, just woke up one morning and that was it.

Took it to Apple and they said basically nothing can be done and a replacement would be £310.

The iPad Air arrived this morning (I honestly love next day delivery) and it’s incredible responsive, the sound is great and I love the way it feels in my hand. Definitely worth the purchase at this stage.

I hate that this is what they think is acceptable. These products are expensive and should be repairable for a nominal fee if out of the warranty period.

I had the same thing with an iPhone. It died when it was just over a year old. Had to get a whole new phone. Good news is that a couple of years later, the old phone started working.

I have a HomePod (big one) and I’m having a party next week; does anyone know if I can borrow my friends HomePod mini and pair them so I can play the same music through both?

You can connect them together via Airplay 2 but it won't be a stereo pair.

I was excited to see the re-introduction of the full size HomePod, but reading a few initial articles suggests it's a downgrade in many areas compared to the original, including the amount of speakers within the unit. Plus apparently you can't use it as a traditional bluetooth speaker? So unless you have an iPhone, you can't steam music via a bluetooth device that's not Apple... can anyone confirm?

Yep you can’t stream music via Bluetooth and that’s been the case since the original came out. According to press who have seen it in action, it still sounds as good is the original despite the reduction in stuff inside it

From what I read, press basically got to listen to a few 30 second song samples, and they didn't get to compare the old & new one side by side.

As someone who has the large HomePod, I hate them for giving the new one a better CPU, and making everything else slightly worse for the same price. I think the HomePod, Apple TV & Studio Display are basically products that came to be simply because Apple had some spare chips & parts laying around from older generation products, and figured out a way to repurpose them.

I’ve just got AM and am interested in the best spatial audio albums (I have AirPod Pros)… currently listening to Blackout and the difference is wild

I was listening to Chromatica in Spatial Audio the day before yesterday and it was really something. I heard a lot of elements in the songs that I hadn’t heard before, 911 in particular.

In other news: I cannot put my iPad Air down since I got it last Saturday. It’s absolutely incredible. I’m now looking into getting a keyboard case for it as I’m a writer and I think it might be a valid replacement for my MacBook Pro. I would be interested in hearing everyone’s opinions!

Upgraded my Apple Watch 4 for an Ultra and corrrr he's a big boy. It took a little while to get used to and I couldn't get on with the loop straps, it added so much unnecessary bulk by having to loop back on itself.

Managed to get one in the 'silicone sport' style from a knock off site and it hits the spot.

I was slightly tempted to get one but I'm waiting for an absolute killer feature to justify paying for it.

I recently just traded in my iPad Pro 12.9 for a M2 Mac mini and I'm not regretting it?

If I select the apps that I want to restrict, and set screen time for, say, 1 hour… is it one hour per app, or one hour for the whole group of selected apps? I can’t seem to word this in a way that will make Google give me the answer I need.

For the group. Or you need to set separate limits per app. Eg social media apps limit is 30 min means 10min instagram and 20min Facebook will trigger it
