I know this is for ancients like me, but is Apple Music still difficult to use with Lastfm? It’s the one thing preventing me from making the switch easily.

I use the Last.fm app on iPhone to scrobble, and it never captures any of the Apple Music streams (only actual files synced to the phone), unlike Spotify. I have to use the Music app on Mac + the Last.fm app on Mac to capture my Apple Music streams.

Me jumping to Apple Music solely to get away from my 900 playlists so I can use the Homepod properly while others stay with Spotify because of them - yes quirky!

Do older versions of iTunes not suppost dolby audio files?
Cause I have trouble importing such an album (unless it is because it sees the original album in my library and thinks 'oh it's already there'?)

You can use music player apps like Marvis Pro to capture last fm scrobble in real time.

Default Apple Music app only allows Last FM to ‘record’ the music that you have added to your library (they don’t need to be downloaded however) not the ones you decided to play off streaming. Even then you still need to go to Last FM app itself and manually press ‘scan’ button to locate these scrobbled music. It’s a bothersome process.

If you use apps like Marvis Pro, and it’s only like $9 USD I think, it eliminates those annoying steps and just automatically captures your plays as long as you’re playing the music with the app itself or the app is running in the background. It has a much better interface to manage your music than default music app too.

The way I asked Siri to play me The Album by The Jonas Brothers this morning and she just picked any random Jonas album.

They didn’t think that one through, did they?

Try it like this ddd.

something something my single is dropping
Siri is so unfit for purpose sometimes. I tried to get it to play a best of album using that format yesterday, “Play the album Best of….” It played some random song by some other artist that was not an album or had best of in the name. It did the same again when I repeated the request. I had to go to the music app to find the album.

If I ask it to play the greatest hits of an artist, it often plays the same song endlessly even when they have several huge hits to play.

Recently, if I told my HomePod to stop playing, the HomePod mini three rooms away picked up the request and would start playing. The HomePod would stop playing but say, “There is nothing to stop.” I then had to go to the other room to tell the mini to stop. This happened for about a month but, with a recent patch, this issue seems to not be happening anymore.
