I hope that the Wicked acclaim translates to the Grammys and she takes Best Pop Vocal Album. I know she's notorious for not winning, but I'm gonna hope the voters rally behind her for Best Pop Vocal Album in an effort to give her something since she was shut out of the main categories and her public goodwill continues to grow.

The world is so in love with her right now I can't help wondering how things would have panned out had Eternal Sunshine been scheduled for release a year later than it did originally, coming out in between the Wickeds instead. I mean the album did great so its not like there's anything to salvage, but I feel like it could've been even bigger. But I'm sure this wouldn't work for her schedule and that she wanted to get it out of the way. I'm revisting it / her entire discography and she's just such a decent little popstar with a really solid collection of albums. And she's a hilarious and lovely human!
But then I'm equally excited for her acting career now too. I'm sure Hollywood is scrambling to find her next project, be interesting to see what she selects. Give us a screwball comedy Ari ! A very exciting time for her either way.

To be fair, I think this was always the plan to begin with. That’s why she said she would likely only do a few intimate shows in the meantime. But I feel like people forgot she wasn’t even planning to record/release an album at all until after Wicked Part 2 came out. We got really lucky.

I’m all for her acting more bc she truly is talented in that department as well, but something about her talking about her music lately has been bothering me. Like when Eternal Sunshine came out she seemed genuinely excited to be putting music out again, but now that she’s in Wicked mode sometimes it seems she resents her pop star career or talks about her music with disdain

She's just keeping expectations in check. Wicked stuff will be until at least early 2026 and she'll likely want a break/stock take of where all this leaves her. I can imagine a lot of the heaviness of her own personal music career can overwhelm vs being in a cast of a movie with more impersonal creative energies and a character to embody

Don't get me wrong, I would get tickets but I'm not hankering for an Ariana tour. I don't really see her as a tour girl even even though she did a lot of in it the late 2010s. The show I saw was so-so. For me she's a recording artist and an now an actress which is exciting, and we just got the best album of her career and now an Oscar buzz movie role so I feel kind of full?

Oh, I don’t get that at all from her interviews. If anything, she seems to have an even deeper appreciation for music than ever and is in a very healthy place when it comes to how she engages with it and her stardom in general.
