Well it is the better album so it's not that bizarre.
This is true dddd. As long as people can refer to you as a Grammy winning superstar, it doesn’t really matter how many you have.
Can't believe this album is a year old next week!
You missed that she started with the lyrics from Look At Her Now.
Now we said it.
Of course @sweetener would like this post.
I’ve long been a sweetener apologist and knowing that it stays being the Grammy award winning album in her catalogue feels like justice lol. However I am genuinely surprised thank u, next didn’t get anything last night. It was such a blockbuster album that practically dominated pop culture, so I am pretty surprised it got no love.
I'm pissed Billie still could've won the big four and made her own bit of history, with room to award this her second consecutive Pop Vocal Album and made her own lil bit of history but it is what it is.
Okay but I’m glad 7 Rings isn’t her Grammy decorated hit at least.
If this gives us her Red-1989 moment because she's quietly upset it lost... I welcome the obliteration
Everyone should be thankful for this ddd
Also, NASA is still that fucking binch.
I'd rather be alone tonight
You can say "I love you" through the phone tonight
Really don't wanna be in your arms tonight
I'll just use my covers to stay warm tonight
Think I'm better off here all alone tonight
Ain't no checkin' on when I get home tonight
Just makin' sure I'm good on my own tonight
Even though there isn't nothin' wrong tonight
Until 7 Rings (Live) wins Pop Solo next year.
The little shout out to 'better off' in NASA, she just 100% gets it.
People saying Sweetener is a better album than Thank U, Next...
Whoever said money can't solve your problems - what
Must not have had enough money to solve 'em
They say, 'Which one?"
I say, "nah, I want all 'em"
Happiness is the same price as red bottoms
Ready for the Grammy committee to award the new leader of the proletariat.
I really have to say - Sweetener and Thank U, Next both hold a very special place in my heart.
Don't get me wrong, TU,N has the songs I tend to return to (and think about) more often, but I really have to admit that I've come to appreciate every track off of both albums - even Blazed, which I initially wrote off as being so silly that I would've axed it from my personal version of the album and left it in a ditch (which I've chalked up to being a combination of being placed after Raindrops + Pharrell doing.... whatever that was with the song) . Whether that's indicative of my taste or the overall driving force of what I listen to being my mood is up for debate, though.
That being said - Sweetener the song is jarringly out of place, as much as I enjoy it.
Of course the Scammys would favour Sweetener (big label blockbuster release, using songwriter camps and big production teams) over TUN which was made in Ariana's closet and cost $90 for Max Martin's Wetransfer Pro costs.
