Artists returning with new material in 2018?

Discussion in 'Pop & Justice' started by pranavc, Dec 15, 2017.

  1. Hello All,

I make a similar post at the end of each year. I am curious as to what artists/bands with confirmed (or almost confirmed) releases for next year you are looking forward to. Here is my list:

Craig David (although I'm not feeling the first two singles at all)
Sophie Ellis Bextor (not really new material - just orchestral versions of her older songs)
    The 1975
    Manic Street Preachers
    Samantha James
    Simple Minds
    Kim Wilde
    Tears For Fears
Kylie Minogue (although my expectations are low in light of everything she has released post "Aphrodite")

    What is on your list?
  2. Ariana Grande (so fucking perched for this one)
    Lady Gaga
Christina Aguilera (??? Pls let this finally happen)
    All Saints
    Rihanna (hopefully)
    Lily Allen

  4. BANKS, hopefully. She’s started work on her third album.

  6. Avril Lavigne, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
And if the Dolls don't release new music, I hope Nicole Scherzinger will drop something new next year, she hasn't released not even a single song on her own since 2014!

  10. Pop-wise, I hope Britney does something.

BANKS too, that’s the other big one for me.
  11. Is the Tracey Thorn project a sure thing?
  12. Ewan Pearson posted a photo of the "New Tracey Thorn album being cut" in October and she tweeted something about her new album in November so I'd hope so.

  13. Hesitating:
  14. Please just give me Kylie, Madonna, Ariana, Lily, Gaga, and Beyonce. I'd include Christina but I don't want to jinx it.

Are probably my most anticipated, guaranteed releases. I'd love a new Britney album but we'd probably know by now if she was working on some kind of album so I'm not counting on it. Xtina & Rihanna are wild cards. I feel like it's finally the right time for X to release her damn album but God knows anymore. Rih has started recording so I have a feeling a new album is upon us soon but after the fuckery from last time, I'm not holding my breath.

A new Dumblonde album also seems to be coming but I'll believe it when I see it.
  18. I'm so excited for Madge and Kylie.

Even if their output is mediocre I always enjoy watching them evolve.

Queens of pop since the 80s.

  19. Well, Tears for Fears and Kim Wilde are definitely happening, so I'm good with those. Eurythmics would once upon a time have been an amazing proposition, but I really doubt whether Mme. Lennox can get down off her self-righteous soapbox for long enough to come up with something listenable anymore.
