I like some of the songs on Joyride ("Oh Emma" and "Hot Fever Dream" are my favourites) but I do wish the album was more cohesive melodically.

I really like this on first listen. I have only ever really known 2 Hands so this was not on my radar at all really.
But it's a very tight, solid album full of hooks and bops.

The album is very Dawson's Creek coded. Soundtrack for a teenage summer dream in that space and time.

Today Astrid S confirmed in an interview with Norwegian newspaper VG that her contract with Universal Music has now ended and she has started her own label called Joyride. She has a distribution deal with Gladstone Music Group. In 2025 Astrid is one of the participants on the TV show Hver gang vi møtes (Every Time We Meet), where seven musicians cover each other's songs and the TV programs are focused on one and one musician, where they take turns being the main person who gets to hear covers of their songs. So the first releases for Astrid's new label will be covers that she recorded for the TV show.
