Australia 2017

Dami Im was one of the best ever Eurovision vocals and was robbed last year. She was outstanding. The Veronica's would be great actually. Howling if it's Vanessa Amorosi.

Courtney Act is probably waiting at the phone.

He is gorgeous. Its probably one of the better ballads melody wise isn't it? Though the production is a bit plodding. I prefer it to most of the other slow entries so far, think it could do well. Verona is still the one to beat for me I guess.

Regardless, this is best song out of all confirmed entries. Which doesn't mean much since selection this year is dire. The slope from last years is astounding.

It's really annoying, from all the semi finalists last year I think there was only 2 songs I couldn't tolerate at all. All the rest were alright-excellent. I'm so dissapointed so far.

As much as I loved Dami Im & Jamala last year, I think those songs being successful with the public + juries (as well as Poland in terms of the former) have had an big impact on this year's output. Alongside Tropical house judging by all the national finals.

Every year it seems like the bigger songs have influence over what will get through in the following year/s (see Heroes 'inspiring' Russia, Iceland & Belarus to a lesser extent last year). Unfortunately they're often not up to the same quality & it's the songs that offer something different that end up coming out on top, starting the cycle again.

While I agree that The Veronicas, Tina Arena or Samantha Jade would've all been absolutely ideal, I wouldn't discount Isaiah just yet. He does a brilliant job of conveying emotion through his live vocal - so in a similar way that Dami took 'Sound of Silence' up a notch on the live stage, I think he could do the same.

It's definitely a step down from last year, but he could still bring the goods.

I knew this would happen when 1944 (inexplicably) won last year. They don't seem to realise how boring sitting through a sea of ballads is. 2015 was a real slog to get through and not enjoyable in the slightest.

They should implement a ballads to bops ratio, 20-80 or something. We want a show!
