Lead single ''Here's To Never Growing Up'' out on iTunes now.

Avril was on Ryan Seacrest this morning (April 9, '13) and discussed her upcoming 5th studio album:

- The album is not finished; she has one more song she wants to write by herself. It will be out this summer.

- There is a song called ''Hello Kitty'' which is described as ''aggressive, different and not what you'd expect''. It is partially in Japanese.

- Another title is Bad Girl ft Marilyn Manson

- Duet with Chad.

- A lot of ballads.

Her first single for this album was "fun" and look how it ended.

Give us the Under My Skin-Avril back.

I used to love her and her music so much. I don't know if I grew out of it or she just became repetitive and boring. Something needs to change next era for me to actually bother with.

Couldn't she have just made Goodbye Lullaby less of a borefest and added the 8 new fun tracks? Anyway, I loved What The hell so I'm excited about it.

Glad to see Wish You Were Here is going to be a single.

Goodbye Lullaby is a solid album but the execution of it was all wrong. there should have been more uptempos.

Wish You Were Here is excellent so that's good news. As is the fact that she's getting back on the horse so soon. I don't care that much for her beyond the odd song but popstars who work hard get my vote.

wow the instrumentals sound awesome!! So happy to hear there is a new album so soon!! I think "what the hell" is one of the catchiest songs of 2011 so far...

Let's hope she incorporates a bit of a maturity into that "fun". Seriously, she's never going to have major success anymore unless she stops sounding and looking like she's 17.

Well I'm more excited about the news that Wish You Were Here is getting a release and video. Still, I love most of her music, BDT was a low point and apart from What The Hell, Goodbye Lullabye was a nice return to her more mature sounding stuff. I'm willing to give this 'pop and fun' thing another go but it will have to be spectacular if I'm going to enjoy a whole album of her doing it.

This is exactly Avril's problem. Musically, What The Hell sounded like an outtake from The Best Damn Thing; lyrically, it was closer to something a Disney Channel star would release when it was deemed her time to 'grow up'. It's no wonder hardly anyone was interested.

If she's to bounce back from the failure of Goodbye Lullaby, her music and image badly need to evolve.

She just lacks something since Under My Skin which was amazing, I hope she finds a balance of fun songs and more serious but not borefest type songs.

Everything about Avril just seems stuck in a rut. It feels like she or her music have never properly evolved. Goodbye Lullaby just didn't fit in with the current music climate. Sure, it's good that she wasn't chasing trends, but at the same time, she's a major label popstar. She is supposed to be having smash singles and big, big numbers with her albums.

The only reason the last campaign wasn't a complete disaster was because over the years she has built up a very solid fanbase. But you need more than that to have an album campaign with longevity.

And don't get me wrong, I like What the Hell a lot, and it might have been a big hit maybe 5 years ago or so, but it just wasn't right. As has been said, it sounded more like a debut single of a Disney alum who wanted to be taken seriously, rather than the comeback single or a girl who has been doing this for almost 10 years, and was fairly recently divorced.

Re: Avril Lavigne - 5th Studio Album (Late 2011/Early 2012)

I disagree that she has to sound more "of the moment." The thing I appreciate about Goodbye Lullaby, whatever its flaws, is that it's a dyed-in-the-wool pop-rock album. Jumping on the generic synthy club bangers bandwagon will not get her success, it will just make her even more likely to get lost in the crowd. P!nk is still getting hits in the pop-rock mould, there's no reason why Avril shouldn't capitalize on her absence and stick to that sound.

I think the problem, as others have noted, is that her image and lyrics are infantile, stuck in in a rut. I think 'Smile' is one of the best singles of the year, with a gorgeous, sweeping chorus and brilliant production. But the verse lyrics (clearly her own contribution) would be cringe-inducing sung by a sixteen year old.

I'm not saying she has to be Sarah McLachlan, but lose the neon highlights, stop dressing like you crashed your car into a Hot Topic, and bring a little maturity to these numbers.

A new clip of Won't Let You Go leaked featuring the end of the chorus which the other clip cut off. Sony know who has the song and are threatening legal action if it leaks in full as it's being considered for the 5th album along with the other instrumentals that leaked.

Another tiny clip which sounds like it must come after the middle 8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RoWl2IFYPC0

The longer tagged clip that leaked last year doesn't seem to be on Youtube anymore.

WOW new album already? I hope this time the label let her release something more grown up.

Isn't "Smile" just picking up steam? It only debuted on the Hot 100 like two weeks ago. I doubt we'll be getting another album till at least summer 2012. I genuinely love "Smile", it has one of the best choruses I've heard all year. Here's hoping "Wish You Were Here" can at least make it to the Top 20 when it gets released.

And this is so irrelevant to everything but I still can't believe she's older than Lady GaGa.

I love Smile so much! I hope it takes off soon.

Seriously!? No way! I love both artists, but Gaga just seems so much older than Avril... They're both great for their own reasons, but surely Gaga isn't the younger one?

Smile is just phenomenal. Easily one of the best pop songs of the year for me, and I have no idea how it's not in the Top 10 right now.

'rock' isn't selling at the moment, nothing rock flavored is in the top 40!
