The comparison with Lana is interesting because both of them are just a product of hype that will fade away when media pushes 2014's Lana Del Rey next september.
212 IS a global smash. It's a club song that's been played in every possible club on the planet and has millions of views on Youtube. Everyone heard the song, wether they know it's an Azealia Banks track or not (and that's the only problem).

I don't think Lana's hype will fade away, but it'll certainly die down in comparison to her overwhelming presence over 2012. Azealia needs to release Broke With Expensive Taste before people start doom mongering that she's over and her time has passed etc. If the music is great, people will listen.

I've always been under the impression Broke is coming in Jan and Fantasea II after. & I'm pretty sure Second Wave is Fantasea II.

100% done with this flop now. Went to see her (and many others) at Listen Out today in Melbourne, and she dropped the mic, said "Fuck this" and stormed off stage after not even 90 seconds into her set. She didn't even finish one single verse (of ATM JAM to be specific), let alone a freaking song. Sure, having a bottle thrown at you must be horrible, but the way she handles these things is absolutely pathetic. The same thing occurred in Sydney just last week. Everyone was chanting for her to come back, and booed the idiot who threw the bottle, yet she goes on to tweet "see you tomorrow in Brisbane" (which I really doubt she will even play now), and tweets that she's gone "to sushi" only 10 minutes later. The fucking nerve.
Absolutely unprofessional, disrespectful and immature. Does this girl want to have anyone supporting her or does she want to alienate literally everybody on the earth?
At least her storming off led to me and my friends being able to see Just Blaze instead, who was absolutely fucking incredible, and pretty much sums it up in this amazing tweet. Completely done. Goodbye Azealia.

I can admit I likes to party...*throws mic down*. Amazing.
While it's not ever okay to throw things at artists on stage, I feel bad that she left the people that actually showed up to see her. Although it's not as bad as when Cher Lloyd had bottles of piss launched at her on stage. She managed to finish her set though.

She should just leave Australia and never come back because I doubt anybody would trust to go see her anymore. She has alienated any of the fans she still had here. Who pays $132 to see 90 seconds (or in Sydney's case, 15 minutes) of an hour long set? She's only played 1/3 of her shows so far! Absolutely ridiculous.
As I said, I'm not condoning the behaviour of the one guy who did so, as that's an appalling thing to do, but really, this is the 4th time it's happened in the same place, within 15 months.
You were not there. Everybody was excited, chanting her name, totally giving a good vibe. Just because one idiot did something stupid does not mean she has to ruin it for everybody else. By doing what she did, she is giving those people what they want, which is a reaction. Cans were being thrown around during Duke Dumont too, but he gave no fucks, was completely professional and continued doing what he was there to do.
