Backstreet Boys - This Is Us

'Bigger' is just like old Backstreet Boys. A great Max Martin track.
If it gets radio play it could be a hit, but lets face it, the Backstreet Boys record label are crap.

When the best selling boyband of all time can only get to no.72 with a Redone produced massive pop song, something is wrong.
The video didnt help. It could have been so good.
Who is running their ship?

They should be fired as they obviously couldnt give a crap!

They had zero promo except some crappy interview on Live from Studio 5, that like has 10 viewers in total lol.

Shoshana Stone is their PR at sony for the UK, and she doesn't seem to be doing a good job!!! But this bad promo is global, not just in the UK. Japan is the only place which has had good promo.

Brian has swine flu now, so all their NYC promo has just been cancelled too :(!

The problem is not the music. It's that they're old - not in the age sense, but in the "over it" sense. The music business is like a big one night stand. You hook up with an act for 2 albums and then you say "I've done you. Next!"

They've not transitioned into one of those 'Well, our album isn't selling, let's just go ahead and launch a massive worldwide tour to make some money' acts either, which has an influence on the way their careers have turned out.

I think its a really good album, I can't honestly say any track is better than "Straight Through The Heart" but they are all solid songs.

I'm hoping to go to the tour, haven't got tickets yet but with the last two albums I've found that I've liked the songs, but its only when I've heard them live I think wow these are amazing tracks. I'd say that applied more to "Unbreakable" than "Never Gone". So hopefully providing all goes well and I see the tour, I'll end up worshipping this album like I did the previous 2.

I think the tour should be good. Well from what we know so far they are doing all the songs from This Is Us except for 'If I knew Then', 'Masquerade' and 'Shattered'...I don't really know how fans find this stuff out but apparently it's true! Also the show is supposed to be a much bigger production more like the Millennium show than the last couple of tours. They are even having dancers and things - seems like they are putting a lot of effort into it.

I'm glad to hear that about the scale of the tour production, because as much as I loved seeing them on the Unbreakable tour I was a little underwhelmed at the whole production. I mean the video screens were embarrassingly cheap and the whole thing just looked like it was done on a tiny budget.

This album is a 10/10! So surprised!

and gosh it is soooo good to hear that about a Backstreet Boys album.

I actually wouldn't mind if this tour was just them and a backing band. They're such good performers they can carry it off very well. Really looking forward to this album.I haven't been listening to the songs online, so as not to ruin the experience of getting the CD!

Picked this up today - Rather good it is too! Good mix of pop and R+B.

Bigger, the Max Martin song is quite a departure to his recent output, which is no bad thing!

All of your life (you need love), the second Redone track is such a europop anthem - I absolutely love it! That man has the midas touch at the moment - The synth bassline that kicks in after the acapella vocals following the middle 8 sends shivers down my spine!

Even Pitbull manages not to spoil the final track, which is an added bonus!

Im not a huge fan of theirs but will have to get up to scratch with their new songs, Im going to see them in November!

So jealous! I couldn't get anyone to come with me!
Saw them before back in the 90's and the put on a great show!

I haven't really listened to their last album. Played each song once and thought it was all so terribly boring! I decided they were past it. This album has changed my views!

Well im in row A in the O2 some friends were going together but one pulled out so I got the ticket for the bargain price of £25! And a mate lives in london so we are staying with her, Cheap or what? Hahaha! I love Backstreets back!
